You couldn't have a pirates movie where you're supposed to care about pirates. They're not good people. This is part of what weakens the films later on. I enjoyed "At World's End"; it was fun and just as "convoluted" as the "Lord of the Rings". I also hope they make a 4th episode. I heard that Depp refuses to do a 4th so it would just be Knightley and Bloom. Without Depp there could be no humor. He is quite the versatile actor of our times. Isn't he the "Mad Hatter" in "Alice in Wonderland"?

Two things to say:
1. Jack does change quite a bit. He finds that he would rather help a friend than save his own skin. He first returns to the Pearl when the Kraken is attacking it in DMC, and when he is given the opportunity to stab Jones's heart he gives the dagger and heart to Will so that he may live forever instead.

You've GOT to be kidding me. Barbossa and Sparrow couldn't be less alike.
Sparrow (especially in the sequels) is more the clown. He is sneaky and conniving. He is sly and manipulates people to get what he wants.
Barbossa is menacing. He fights and stands strong to get what he wants. He forces his opinion to get what he wants.

I hear that there's a 4th one currently in the works. If anyone from Disney is reading this, PLEASE, I'm begging you, get screenwriters who aren't self-indulgent or think that being obscure is being "intelligent" and "challenging." It's not. It's being frustrating!
