From FAQ here is an answer to that question: No. When the accountant asks if Chigurh is going to shoot him, Chigurh replies by saying, "That depends. Do you see me?" The implication is that incidental people who agree that he is a ghost and look the other way may be allowed to live. This scene is important because it explains the strange scene where Bell enters the motel room and ...

Everybody probably has one (or maybe more). Name a movie that by many is considered a "classic" but that you despise. It doesn't matter how old or new it is. Mine... is Pulp Fiction GO!

I thought it was one of the best endings to a movie. Even the first time i saw it, i felt the same way, however the rest of the audience didn't. My interpretation of the ending is that there will always be evil men and death in the world, and had Anton been killed, there would still be no resolution to the violence.

... the greatest antagonist I have ever liked. (Next to Walt Disney's Hades of course). One problem that I come across is: do people see him as a villain?

I see alot of comments about how those of us who disliked this film didn't "get" it so please tell me what I was supposed to get. I keep an open mind, when I first saw " Mulholland Drive" I remember going WTF when the credit's rolled, then the more I thought about it I realized what I had just saw and immediately watched it again and was blown away. I can usually "get" complex films,...

telling Stephen Root that he "counted the floors from the street" and "there's one missing"? And why does Root antagonistically ask Harrelsoon, "Did I tell you to sit"?

Damn near the best thing about this movie and that is saying a lot. Was he nominated for an oscar for this? If so why not? If william hurt can win an oscar for five minutes of nothing in history of violence why not this?

UPDATED Sat Aug 30 2008 17:49:04 I read a pretty convincing interpretation of NCFOM as an allegory, with Chigurh as Death, Moss as man and Bell as a philosopher. Hence Chigurh can disappear from the hotel room as Bell enters - which seems to be taken as the key scene which demonstrates the non-literal aspect of the film. The problem I have with that is that if Chigurh is ...

Why was chigurh there in the first place when there was a crime scene posted? Was that his hideout? Why was tommy lee looking at the 3 bullet shells and coin at the crime scene and what were they? how did the mexicans know to catch up with the kelly macdonald's mother at the bus depot? I guess Chigurh killed kelly macdonald right?I think this scene could have been opened up more so...

UPDATED Wed Aug 13 2008 10:38:02 This film disappoints or confuses shallow movie-goers while wowing sycophants because of who America is in 2007/2008. We are divided between those who refuse to find ingenuity in anything unconventional on the one hand, and those who gush with joy over any social critique on the other. Ironically, the movie itself reflects precisely those ...
