There are so many factors when you are in a home invasion - at either end. Good doesn't always win. Godzilla: What's that? Ultraman: What? Japan? Oh, you wouldn't be interested in that…

worst movie of the decade?

Here are my worst movies of the 2000s. I went ahead and included two from 2000 though technically the decade...oh never mind. As for this movie, I know a lot of people love it and can't see why I don't. Let me say I am NOT one to say you are "stupid" for liking something I don't. If you like it, great. I just didn't: Book of Shadows Blair Witch 2 Dude Where's My Car? The Time Machine Hulk the Chain...

Why do you call it an art film? What would you call it? It seems to be the general consensus. "But how does a change in situation justify the portrayal of violence as a means of entertainment?" -You just answered your own question. Then I guess the Romans were right. We should definitely go back to public executions since you find it so easy to justify murder as entertainment. Since you're curious, I watched it when I...

Re: Good movie, untill that remote control :( I agree with this. I thought the movie was brilliant and rough and true. Partially even painful to watch. (I had no trouble with the length of scenes, made it even more real). That is why the rewind-scene f(*ked it up for me. :S It's a really clever and cruel movie and I think I get what the director was trying to say. For me that scene just didn't fit into the rest of the movie. Will...

MrStevo75: Why do you call it an art film? "But how does a change in situation justify the portrayal of violence as a means of entertainment?" -You just answered your own question. Since you're curious, I watched it when I ran across it looking through the foreign films section at a blockbuster, of all places, 8 years ago, the german version, knowing nothing about it going in. So, your snotty little guess proves as...

yea to add to this. in my opinion this was the point of the movie. that it IS a movie. the second that michael pitt's character Paul engages eye contact with the audience when he's playing the "hot cold" game with naomi watts, it breaks the voyeuristic gaze of the audience. he makes it apparent that he knows he's being watched and thus makes it hard for the audience to identify with and feel empathy for the...

When I first watched this movie I thought it was horrible. It really pissed me off and I thought the whole thing was stupid. After a while, although I still did not like the film, it started to intrigue me on why someone whould want to make a movie like that. After doing research of my own and learning the reason why the movie was made and actually watching the movie over again I can honestly say that I love the movie for what it is. The...

Yeah seriously, that was the one moment when I was like "Yeah!" and then he starts looking for the remote and rewinds the scene and as this is happening I'm thinking "oh, no, this can't be happening here." And about 5 seconds later I realized that it did happen. I guess they were going for the roller coaster effect but this was absolutely STUPID.

The director was just looking to make his money. He probably doesn't care one way or another. I agree with you.
I just watched this for Tim Roth. He was the only good thing about the movie. At least for me anyway.

All the reasons I got would just be the opposite of what you've stated. I loved the pacing of this film, loved how they broke the 4th wall repeatedly, and just generally thought it was masterfully executed. I can however respect your opinion as you've stated it much better than most of the FG hating trolls around these parts. As I've said before this movie is just not for everyone. And that's ...
