Prentiss can't be gay;...
Published (2009-11-29 22:06:00)
Just remembered something else. In "Mayhem" and/or "Lo-Fi" Prentiss was pretty flirty with that Detective Cooper guy (the officer who got shot). She even brought him a gift when she visited him in the hospital at the end. I know he's married, but there was a charged/loaded pause between them at the end before she said goodbye. I sensed she liked him (and he her) but was then resigned to the fact that...

Prentiss can't be gay;...

Oh, I don't think many people's attempt to prove Prentiss isn't or couldn't realistically be gay or bisexual has anything to do with judgment bailey. It's just that, as Mr. Boreno stated, there are a lot of Hotch/Prentiss shippers, people who would like to see them get together. Obviously if she were gay, that couldn't, or isn't likely to happen.

Having the gathering at a restaurant makes sense. Additionally not all wakes are weeping, awful events. Many times stories are swapped and there is much laughter as well as some tears. Okay, but considering how Haley died, I would think that would make things much more somber. This wasn't after an illness or even a sudden tragic accident. They all heard her murdered and then witnessed Hotch have a massive breakdown. The funeral had to be...

To paraphrase a character from the South Park movie, most of the censors seem to believe that horrible deplorable violence is ok, just as long as they don't use any naughty words. I forget where I found it once, but there was a website that listed standards for different countries and what sorts of things could and could not be put on television. In some countries violence is really censored or toned down while sex scenes and nudity are...

Haley (problems for the writers)...

I totally agree with you jubas. However they "handle" the situation, Jack still doesn't have his mother and that's what I don't like. It was not necessary to kill her to make a banner 100th episode. If the actress needed to move on to a new job wound her badly enough in the stand off with Foyet to need plastic surgery, replace her and move on. Her character doesn't need to be in that many scenes anyway....

Foyet - best unsub ever?

If the 100th episode showed us nothing else, its that they've got a team of very talented writers working on this show! I hear that! CM never ceases to amaze me! - They'll catch you. - Yeah. Sure. So what.

The way I saw it was that Foyet realized that Hotch had suddenly, to his surprise, gained control of the situation and he was trying any way he could to get Hotch to lower his defenses for just the tiniest smidgen of time to level the playing field. I didn't buy it, Hotch didn't buy it. Yeah, I was among the people shouting at the TV for Hotch to keep hitting.

ikarinokami judging from your comments you seem to know more about the law than most people. many people seem to think it was ok to beat the Reaper to death. As a retired cop myself I am glad that this discussion came about because it helps people understand how difficult a cops job is

So you're saying he should never have beaten the Reaper to death? Hotch was under duress. What (for the sake of argument) would you have done in that case? I know it's only a tv show but I want to hear your opinion. :)

Hmmm... interesting question. Both of them got to someone on the team through killing someone they loved (Hotch through Haley and Gideon through his girlfriend, Sarah). I think Frank tops Foyet in one way - he chose his own death, and he took that woman (I forgot her name) with him, whereas Foyet got beaten to death by Hotch (yay Hotch!)

I'll have to give it some thought, but off the top of my head, my favorite funny-but-not line is by Hotch in response to the unsub from Pleasure is My Business.

I asked my mom what she thought, if Hotch was right or wrong in killing Foyet. She said she didn't think right or wrong or had anything to do with it, because she didn't think Hotch was in possession of his reason. That he was so overwhelmed with grief and shock that he wasn't able to think. He wasn't acting, he was reacting. And, she didn't think any human being in that situation with those ...

The episode where he is kidnapped and drugged is Revelations. The team begins to suspect something is wrong with him over the course of the next few episodes, but nobody actually confronts him about it until the episode called "Jones" (which is where JJ met the guy who became the father of her baby).
I don't think the word "confront" is quite right in this situation. Basically Reid ditched work ...

He was a man who used to work for a record label that was going out of business. He would bring the girls back to the old recording studio and promised them he could get them a record contact and he would have them sing for him. He would then give them water laced with a drug so they would pass out ... the last victim managed to get away and run onto the street. She ran into a cop and said she...

Well, just because she's not gay doesn't make her straight... people *can* be attracted to both sexes. She could be bisexual, I guess.

That's how I see it too kdogg. It was simply a parent's reaction to protecting his child. Foyet had just threatened him and no doubt would have killed that innocent little boy given the slightest of chances. It was not vigilantism, but a father's love.

I do wonder about that. It was one reason I was surprised Haley actually died, because that leaves Jack essentially alone if Hotch doesn't resign or stay behind most episodes as a kind of desk agent or something. I don't want Hotch to go, but they'll need to come up with something to make it plausible for him to stay.

THANK YOU. The haters need to give it a rest.
So each team member will support Hotch in a different way, huh? I wonder how Prentiss will be there for him...*wink-wink-nudge-nudge* And I don't care what's been said, I refuse to believe Prentiss might be gay!

Both are great actors and I'm glad the characters are so different, I like them both. Rossi is a bit more likable and Gideon a bit more brainy.
