City Vice : She was a stretch out on the turf in last breaking from the rail . She spotted the field several lengths at the break and was taken back even more by the worse rider on the NYRA curcuit (Ms Studart). She then tipped out 4/5 wide on the turn making a credible run then flattened out. Today, she gets an enormous rider switch to Lezcano. Unfortunately ,this is ...

Why do people rag on Glenn Beck? If those who call him a nut would actually take the time to listen to what he is saying then they might change their minds. He makes a lot of sense. He even says he hopes he is wrong, but then presents facts that back up everything he says. What if Beck is right? That's what he asks of viewers/listeners. Does anyone care that we are becoming a communist country?

The Bounce
There is an EXCELLENT article by Barry Meadow in the December edition of American Turf Monthly on the bounce.
He discusses all aspect of research by himself and Jim Cramer of HDW re when bounces are most likely to occur, and how often they occur with different classes of horses, etc.
The research is quite impressive.

Does a trainer or jockey need a KY Derby win to be considered truly great?
At first I didn't think so but looking at the list it really is almost a requirement. I don't think winning the race makes you a great, but is it like a Dan Marino who never won a Superbowl?
Frankel, Pletcher, and Asmussen are all excellent trainers but all lack ...

Nonsense and Phony-Baloney Analysis
I can't help but wonder, who are these dirt horses that fail when they come to the Pro-Ride? When they race on dirt for one or two races, are they suddenly not able to move their legs properly when planted on Pro-Ride? Is it so? On Mondays and Tuesdays, when the Western Circuit is not active, I ...
