It has been raining for the past few days but the weather looks promising this afternoon so we went to the HortPark with our camera and enthusiasm. HortPark is a one-stop gardening hub that brings together gardening-related, recreational, educational, research and retail activities under one big canopy in a park setting. It is a knowledge hub for plants and gardening and provides the ...

Warm, 73 and sunny today. Chance of a thunderstorm this evening. I repotted my hibiscus yesterday as it was root bound and then I caught the hose on its new container and dumped out some soil. Now I need to buy some more to fill it up. It has new blooms today so must be okay. Have a good day. Wannabe

Just wanted to share a picture of a humming bird nest that is at my mother-in-laws house. She has a wind chime that hangs outside her livingroom window and every year for the past 3 years the hummer has raised babies in this nest. Liz takes the chimes down in the fall so the weather doesn't harm the nest and then hangs it back in the spring. The hummer adds to the nest and starts her ...

I am looking for bird feeder crafts to add to my website. If anyone has a favorite bird feeder craft they would be willing to share, I would be interested in adding it to my site. Would be interested in a picture of the finished craft and/or I can include your picture.

My garden is looking pretty croppy (excuse the misspelling that should be an a instead of an o) So these are the prettiest scenes I could find. This Crepe Myrtle tree was sheared off at ground level around 18 years ago by a speeding car that missed the curve in the street a couple of houses from us, veered across the neighbors yard and right across the tree. They had to get ...

I found this growing on the river's edge climbing up some Bullrushes. The bloom is a ball of smaller blooms and it smells nice for the first second and then becomes nasty! The leaves The bloom

is headed our way. We will be on the east side of the storm, which is the bad side. We are about 60 miles north of New Orleans. We will see hurricane force winds and possible flooding. My yard is full of trees, which is what I am scared of. We will go to the church before it gets bad, but my oldest daughter will not leave Basil and we can't bring him. H. Rita brought a huge oak down right...

Are my fellow Texans and those in Louisiana,Alabama, Mississippi and Florida making preparations for 'Gus'? Looks like it will be a direct hit on LA west of New Orleans and the Texas coast. I am about 175 miles from the coast. We expect strong wind and torrential rain, maybe up to 20" as they say 'Gus' is moving very slow. Possible tornadoes.Even North Texas, Toni's part of the state ...

Well...( skiffing my hand palms together back and forth), it's quite cold here today, gray and rainy. Burrrrr...Like Droopy said, seeing those long wooly sweater sleaves of Biita sort of brings home the fact that fall is on it's way. I think that I had better put my fleece on, wait one. --ok then, that's better. I have the windows open and the wind is drafting through the house like ...
