When Thunderbird was downloading the messages, I noticed it was downloading each message 2 or 3 times. I checked my email account through a web interface, and ...

Don't change the port for incoming messages to 587, only for the outgoing (
SMTP) server. The incoming port should be fine at 110.

When I send out a message which contains no formatting, it goes out as plain text. If I then reply to or edit a message which has gone out in plain
text format, is there any way to bring back the HTML tools into the message composer window?

1. I don't believe so. When you are replying to a received message you are replying to the sender. Others that were included as "To" addressees on the original message are receiving a copy of your reply to the initial sender, thus the receive a "CC" rather than "To". 2. Sorry, I can't respond on this part of your post.

I just installed TBIRD. I imported everything from Outlook OK but for Connexions. I can get and send mail unless I attach a large file. In that case it shows completion at 99% but then seems to time out. This problem has been reported already. But there doesn't seem to be a solution yet. Help button in ? doesn't do anything CTR L + C doesn't seem to copy. I can't copy from one message to ...
