The Kalua pork is typically saltier that just regular pulled pork.......with the cabbage and rice is very traditionally Hawaiian. When my kids were in school on Oahu they would serve that for lunch about once every two weeks and that was the only time my kids would buy! I just looked on igourmet and their organic 12 pounder is $149! so I guess my $65 one was a bargain. LOL<< Holy Cow that is one expensive bird. It'd better be dipped in gold and wearing a diamond collar for that price. This year I'll be eating whatever my sister bought and then the free bird that Val gets from work. There are also givers and takers in this world...I am more of a giver and so is DH...I think givers belong together and takers belong together. So, this way nobody in the relationship gets ran over or burned out. JMHO Yeah...well I'd have to agree with you there. I know of one couple where the man is really passive and the woman very assertive (being kind there, lol). They love it that...

Thanksgiving
Published (2009-11-20 09:26:00)
Before I head off to work I must share this story. A few moons ago my Mother who is the kindest person on earth in my mind. She made a last minute Thanksgiving day trip to the store for something which I can not recall. Came back with an elderly couple who she met in line. I will never forget that year around the table. And those people adopted Mom and when they moved on to heaven...

Tylenol works for arthritis pain (sometimes) but it doesn't have the anti-inflammatory effect that ibuprofen has, which is why ibuprofen is great for joints if you can take it. And it's why Aleve is even better (IMO) than ibuprofen for joint pain. Essentially it's an OTC version of Naprosyn. Jordan remarked during the summer how much he likes them. Putting them on the menu for Thanksgiving...I haven't yet decided on appetizers. Josh loved when I tried to make them with really fresh eggs. They were so hard to peel and would take some of the white with the shell. He insisted on eating the "ugly" ones. He told me I "couldn't" put those out for guests. LOL...

My niece Justine and her husband John, she who works for Amazon, are currently on vacation in Japan and are keeping a blog for their trip. It's full of food talk, including a trip to a grocery store. I thought some here might find it interesting, so here's the link: Brooklyn and Beyond The blog's first entry, at the bottom of the page, is from 2007's trip to Vietnam. However, if you move up...

I shed a tear. I first started watching Oprah when my first son was newborn. He'll be 24 in January. I even remember the first commercial advertising her show. It was a play on words with Opera and Oprah. I thought, "Who the heck is that?" brenda I watched her very first show!! I was still in school though. LOL Admittedly I don't watch every show, but the ones that peak my ...

I'm in the ABM club (anyone but mehta). IMO, Chef Mullen's illness was the real reason he was chopped, the rice was just an excuse. The over the top flowers should have sent Mehta home, as well as "integrity" alone! If, by any chance Mehta wins, ICA has decreased my percentage of watching. I won't watch him and I don't like the giggle monkey (Symon).

I go either way too Jennifer. I saw that report as well and kind of flinched at the pancakes with gravy choice. LOL. I usually have toast, or an english muffin, or yogurt, or oatmeal or cream of wheat or cold cereal (speaking of which it is time to make Gail/Geeprather's Apple cranberry granola again). But my favorite breakfast of all time is pie. Apple, cherry, pumpkin, peach...whatever is on...
