I didn't see an intro forum so I thought I would say hello here. I just ordered a new Sharp LC46SE94U to replace the old tube. I see there is a lot of mixed reviews on this manufacturer, like most forums, you get the good and the bad. The company I work for is heavily integrated in the LCD manufacturing food chain. We get a pretty good discount on Sharp and some minor discounts on some other...

I was very impressed with the way the VP nominee handled herself when the left tried so hard to shake her up with all the attacks on her and her family. I am an independent but lean towards the conservative side and I thought she was very poised and to the point. I didn't sense that she will be one bit shy about going head to head with anyone anywhere. I think she came off as a strong woman that...

Today I lost channel 393 (NBC from Los Angeles). The FCC made DirecTV turn it off for my account. No more olympics in high def. I get locals from DirecTV, but only Fox and PBS are in high def. Channel 5 is our NBC local on DirecTV but it is 480i and not worth watching on a 62 inch TV. We also can't get over the air, too many mountains between my house and town. I don't think they broadcast HD ...

Hi, I'm an old geek myself by the way. Here's what I need: Had an Adcom 5 channel seperate amp and pre-amp, old stuff that sounded great with my B & W Matrix speakers. About 2.5 years ago I bought a HD set and needed to upgrade to 5.1+ processing. HDMI connective receivers and pre-amps were priced out of sight so everybody convinced me to go to a Denon AVR2805 in the meantime, using the ...

so, less then year goes by and our wii console is already messing up, not sure if i posted this already or what but it started messing up about 2 months ago (i think i posted something like this in another nintendo forum to get some answers).. bascially when we play games, we get a bunch of pixels on our screen, obviously its not the TV since my ps3 and cable box work 100% fine, i went ahead and...

As posted previously, I have a Sharp LC46D92U that locks up on channel 61.1 (OTA). Sharp's final diagnosis is that it is a signal problem, even though none of my neighbors with the same setup and different brands of tv have the problem. I still am at a loss to understand how an ota signal can take over my tv so that I can't even turn it off or on. This is last Sharp product I will ever own....

Cambridge Audio dips on in, announces 640BD Blu-ray player for 2009 Quote: by Darren Murph, posted Sep 4th 2008 at 8:57AM Sherwood isn't the only little-known company bringing the Blu to CEDIA -- now we've got a boutique manufacturer joining the crowd. Announced today in Denver, Cambridge Audio has revealed that it too will be producing a BD deck in early...

I have a 40in Sony Bravia that until a few days ago was the secondary TV on a 722 receiver. When hooked up like this, while everything was SD, it was all in a 16x9 format. It wasn't zoomed in the TV settings or anything like that. I believe the setting on the TV was "normal". I decided I wanted HD on that TV so I purchased a 222 receiver and hooked it up. Now the only channels that are ...

Looks like there may not be a PC version. If there is, it may be a long wait. How did GOW sell on PC anyway? http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/906/906298p2.html IGN: Does this mean you are planning a Windows version of "Gears of War 2"? CliffyB: Gears of War is a great franchise first and foremost for Xbox 360, and therefore we're focusing on that platform for Gears of War 2. We'...

Should I go with my original plan of getting a new Blu-ray player that offers better DVD upconversion and bitstreams TrueHD and Master Audio (since I decided to return my last attempt at separating DVD from HD with an Oppo 983) or should I perhaps consider doing a separate machine again -- that is, with this new "XDE" technology in a new Toshiba player? It seems Toshiba, in reeling from ...
