Solid deal from Best Buy on the Samsung 1600 (player has Netflix streaming): http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....&ref=39&loc=01 $149 for the player and you can choose 2 Blu-Ray's from a list of over 1000, including new releases and pre-orders like Star Trek (2009), Up!, etc. If you average about $20-24 for the movies that means you are getting the player for right around $100. Good deal.

Snakes on a Train: Great 'b' horror film ,better than Snakes on a Plane.
Masters of Horror blu ray: Sick Girl,Jenifer,Deer Woman. Good stories, great pq.
Dragon Heat: New release with Sammo Hung as an aging cop who becomes a mentor of a bunch of young 'supercops' who are trying to take down a mercenary gang.
Too many characters, too much boring dialogue, too sappy.Only watched half before ...

Great review, Josh.
I've really been meaning to check this out, as it sounds like a very unique and intriguing film.

Okay so if I am reading this right, all the exclusives are either in the form of collectible props and garbage or store discounts and offers; there won't be any differences between the Blu-ray editions in terms of video content and extras, right?

Havent seen it, doubt I ever would either. But its extremely sad to see how the cash vultures attacked the moment he died. He'd never have allowed a rehearsal video to be released as a legit concert video. He would also have never allowed his kids to begin to be exploited by his parents like they are about to be (just mean that within a year, Disney or someone else will get their hooks into them...

Very Interesting!
I thought Peter Jackson was going to do a halo movie, but the studio got cold feet. Looks like this is what the studio felt should take it's place. Maybe we will eventually get a PJ movie about halo too. I would probably very much like anything halo though. Thanks.

Well, I think if we were really wanting to replicate the movie theater experience, then Blu-ray would have to be a lot blurrier and muffled than it is. I rarely go to the cinema anymore, because I find the picture and sound quality lacking.
Personally, I want the best of both worlds. I don't mind some grain as long as it isn't distracting or overly noisy, but I also want a sharp picture...

$49 Blu-ray Players and lots of $9.99 movies this holiday could make things explode for the format.

Pretty sure Star Trek was an action movie and it was awesome. Otherwise, I'd agree the movies you listed were let downs.

I'm holding off on this one for now until I see more of the game. I'm just not sure if this is something I could get into, and Mass Effect 2 is right around the corner.
That said, are there any multiplayer or network enabled features in this game or is it totally single player? I can't imagine what would be network enabled in this type of game, but I only ask because Live > PSN. Also, is ...

I hate manualing in this game, how exactly does it work? I think it's: let go of gas and press either X for up and b for down, but there is always a lag between button press, regassing, and number change on the HUD.
Any suggestions?

I agree with what he is saying. PSN is like a Chevy, It will get you where you want to go. Live is like a Mercedes, it gets you there in style....

My Deluxe version should be here within the week - couldn't pop for release date delivery. That's OK though as I'm about halfway through Valkyria and would love to have that wrapped up before I dive into this.

Day 1 for me. Lots of fun, but those extras, minus the commentary, are very lackluster. Dashes any hope that they would include cheesy live action PSA's.
