Hey there and welcome.. OK so you are going to the hospital tonight??? why not go to your GYN?? If you are going to the ER, they will probably not be much help. Also, if you are not having an OB, they will have to take blood and results can take a while. You say you have had a few tiny bumps on your bottom? anywhere else? Have you had a new partner?? have you been in contact with him? I think you need to take it one step at a time..first find...

In Love with someone with herpes
Published (2009-11-07 18:03:00)
You can absolutely not catch it! Below is from ashastd.org where a qualified nurse answers your questions. This is female to male transmission, it is a little easier for a female to catch, but feel free to ask her for those stats. The stats below are pretty good though If you two did nothing but avoid sex anytime she has an obvious recurrence, your being a male have a 96% likelihood on average of not contracting hsv2 from her in a year. if she...

Once you have genital herpes, you can shed and have outbreaks anywhere near your groin, so condoms won't necessarily prevent you from spreading this. Do you live near a major city? Most metro areas have support groups that I recommend you try out. The one here in Atlanta really helped me out. This site has a listing of many of the groups. Don't worry about transmitting this to your children, it requires skin to skin contact so it is...

Where do you hide your meds?

Perhaps you can put the pills in another container like a Pain Reliever Bottle or empty vitamin bottle that no one would think anything of. I hide my condoms in my tampon box and I have a hole in my ceiling to hide things in as well. Haha get creative. If you can't trust your roommates lock yo door.

Irishheart, your post made me sad! It's sad that you think that people should run away from you just because you have this! You are still the same, vibrant, interesting, great girl.... you just have a silly virus in your system! You need to feel that you are worth everything this world has to offer and that you do deserve to be in a relationship because despite having this, you can still be a great partner and give happiness. If this girl...

A lot of things can seem like herpes. You may have it and you may not. Our intuition is a powerful perception tool but only a medical test can confirm that you actually have herpes and not something that has similar symptoms. There have been a few people on this board who thought they had it but it turned out to be something else. Try not to worry about it until you know for sure. And, even if it is herpes, hsv infections can be cleared up and...

You can take L-Lysine while on valtrex. Many people swear it helps! I just figured it is really cheap at Walmart, so why not try...can't hurt, right?

Have you thought about going on suppressive therapy?
Regardless, if you avoid having sex with him during OB's, only 4 out of 100 males having unprotected sex with a H+ female will get H. Just depends on the couple. Good Luck!

You mentioned H1? So you have HSV 1? Not HSV 2? How were you diagnosed?

I think you are looking for symptoms and freaking yourself out. Neck and back pains could be ANYTHING, and I didnt experience either with my primary outbreak. Also, if you're looking for any skin irregularities down there you could probably find something that you think looks 'weird'.
I really do not think you have anything to worry about. If it keeps worrying you though, go for a type-...

It's funny that you mentioned leg pain. I was just going to write a new thread saying that I feel leg pain today and may be having my 2nd OB. For me it is a somewhat dull ache that comes and goes in my thigh. I remember this from my initial so I'm thinking that another one is coming on. Ugh!! I wanted to be one of the 1 OB only people. I'm sure over the next couple of days I'll be checking ...

I was newly diagnosed about a week ago, and I have to say I'm overwhelmed and depressed too. I made the decision to talk to my dr. about antidepressants, because I was going to bed full of fear, and waking up full of fear. I had a lot of other stressors in my life which contributed to me making some reckless choices regarding protecting myself against potential STDs with the person who "gave" ...

I heard the same thing from planned parenthood. They told me to stay on antivirals for at least three months, and it should make outbreaks less frequent. I still get nerve pain so I decided to stay on them for at least a year, or till the nerve pain subsides. I too have ohsv 1 and ghsv 1.

Great post HITBYHSV..... and I totally agree (well up to a point!).
I have told my close girlfriends and they have been great! At first it was hard but funnily enough, once I told them, they started telling me their stories.
Ive since found out that one of my very good friends has it.... shes lived with it for over 15 years. Another friend told me that her husband has it (he didnt ...

The hand washing...well, keep it up, cuz that's the best way to keep from spreading ALL viruses. As for the vitamins, I take 500 mg of L-Lysine and a generic multivitamin...but, I probably only take them 3-5 times a week. As for triggers, everyone is different. I have heard nutz, caffeine, nicotene, chocolate, oatmeal, peanut butter....BUT, I have been going overboard on them (Snickers for every ...

I dont really have hard feeling for my infector. I was stoned and piss drunk. She gave me oral and I went down on her but she would not have sex with me (I think she knew she had H and thought oral was safe) but two weeks later and a swab and now I have GHSV-1. A lot of things about that night confuse me.

Hey Sunny,
I new here as well. I know what you mean about the sex life. My bf gave me HSV2, but never new he was infected until I had an OB. I just recovered from my first OB, which started about two weeks ago.
I had sex with my bf for the first time this past weekend. It started out pretty painful at first (like stretching new skin on a boo boo), but it subsided. It was not as ...

Sure, you should talk to him. It is very possible that he doesn't know. Take a day or two and learn as much as you can about this. It's NOT the end of the world, it's a nuisance, but nothing more. I know you don't believe that right now, I didn't last Sept when I was diagnosed either...
Anyway, you need to sit down with him (or however is most comfortable for you) and just tell him that he ...

I know you can't spread through blood. The virus doesn't live in our blood. The reason we can test via blood is because we are testing for antibodies in the blood.
I don't know about the saliva 100%, but I do know that the virus needs friction to transfer. And, it sheds from the skin, not saliva. So, that doesn't sound right either.
The four hour thing is just wrong. Not sure you can ...

Obviously something is wrong. Either schedule an appointment with your doctor or go to the ER. If it is herpes, they can prescribe antivirals for you to help clear up your outbreak.
There is nothing here that a bunch of strangers can do for you and your pain. You need professional assistance.
Good luck!

Hey Girl, you sound pretty beat up.
Sounds to me like this dude might have already had herpes, which is why he is brushing it off so easily. Also, if he really won't be monogamous with you, there is a chance that one day he could bring home more than just herpes. Get out of that relationship, pronto.
PM me, I'd like to get to know you!

When I try to sleep at night, I can't sleep because my heart seems to race and my arms get hot. I haven't officially been diagnosed with herpes yet, but I feel like I have it. Also, I feel like I can sleep no problem during the day. Anyone have these issues too?

I am really scared too..I am in the same boat as you...I have a very small red spot on my penis as well and it may be nothing but i am very paranoid. I am not a promiscuous guy but i had two very risky encounters in the same week....i have been very stupid. I was kinda drunk and went to a bathouse. Something I have NEVER done before and I dont know what I was thinking. I went to just jack off...
