Thats great, thank you! how often do you give out good boy stickers to dump truckers? Around here they just set up in certain areas, usually pull of areas and set up shop. I have been stopped by a trooper headed in the opposite direction though. The job we finished on Friday, a DOT van went by, both thurs and fri, and never even looked over at us, we had two trucks just sitting there on the side of the road like sitting ducks!

What about a fabrication category? There has got to be some guys with sick fabrication skills here. What about a category to keep the shopbuilt stuff in one area? I think between Old Iron and TGIF would be perfect. Just a thought.

Thanks for sharing sandy! I see they extended the moldboard out a bit lol. I would really like to give one of those a try, just to say I did. I think one of our members (plowking) actually gave one of these (or similar to) a whirl.
Ahh..back in the days where men were men and women were men..lol

I'm not fond of Bobcat telehandlers myself. I'd say all brands have an aux circuit available, but as an option. You'd have to find one that has that option. Which brand to choose? Everyone has their preference. I'm partial to JLG or Gradall, Lull is right there also. One of my favorite tele handlers is the Gehl 663, built like an anvil, but that's an older model. The later design of that machine ...

I've seen it done both ways and will note that there is a profit margin threshold before outsourcing maintenance can work. Your operation has to be making big money to pay the profit margin of the service organization and figure the turn over on equipment in a trade in program. I'm not sure that in today's economy anyone can afford outside maintenance when they are more worried about keeping the ...

Here was a fun one not too long ago that reminded me of this.
I tow part time as a backup for a couple of companies in my area.
I had a newer model, perfect condition, international flatbed from one of the companies at my house. This truck is far from a rat trap and maintained to a T.
I get an accident call from state police rotation for a one car rollover in the middle of and blocking...

Hey od1, good to see you started a thread about your machine.
Whew, talk about a ton of questions! This is going to take some time to noodle through. I'll start working on some of this and post back.
And yes, JLG industries works through a dealer network. They don't provide support from a factory connection. I know your in Canada and it would be better if you could work with someone ...

Oh, by the way... I don't mean just making a moldboard that fits where the mower deck was... I am going to stretch out the wheelbase, and make it look like a grader (except for the dual rear wheels)

If I was the homeowner, I would fire the GC right now. He let the masons build it that way, how do you think the rest of the house will be built.

No experiance. But having said that I do think a grapple would give greater control at grabbing and ripping things apart. Also being able to lift and move more akward(sp) shapes by getting better grip.
