Cat 385C L Loads Roll-Off
Published (2009-11-22 18:47:00)
Nice video. I would be intrested to know what is going on ( apart from the obvious.... he loading a roll on off ) I take it the cofferdam is not watertight which is why its not pumped out. The size of some of those rocks and your previous comment, I take it he is having to use a breaker. What concerns me is if the cofferdam was built/installed and then infilled so the excavator can get out there to work ( look at ground outside the steels )...

Rob It looks to me like the ground he is sitting on is restrained inside another cell of the cofferdam. I think that is the only way to get out to the edge like that in the first place. I think you got it right on the dewatering of the material. As far as the comment about why they don't use a slotted bucket, maybe they don't have one for the machine, and for a 385 you are talking big $$ to buy one, or just use what you have and take...

Show us some pics of the Komatsu, if you get it. That hydraulic system will make a hero out of a zero, its the best. Might have to wait a couple more days for parts and they might cost more, pick your poison. Can't go wrong with a Komatsu or Cat excavator, either way.

As for digging crossing lawns a track will beat the snot out of a back hoe any day.Oversaw a job recently for a buddy where they had to dig across a lawn one very wet Saturday when they finished they relaid the turf and the damage was minimal, hand on heart a rubber tyred digger would have made a holy mess of the place. Most of the time yes a 710 is too big for street work. We have almost exclusively 710's for hoe packing they are a beast and rather clumsy. The size comes in very handy quite a lot with us, but at the same time wheeling in and out of small places is a little harder than with your 580. I backfilled a small sewer vault this summer in a backyard with one of our 710G's and it was an adventure to say the least. Trying to turn that monster...

I work for a Komatsu dealer. I can tell you that the WB140/WB150 machines are not very popular with most of the customers I deal with. On the other hand, most of the same people LOVE the newer WB146/WB156. I ran both while I was still and operator and always felt the WB140 was underpowered compared to other models machines from CASE, CAT, Deere, etc.

Have you called the seller and asked him about this? 1. Why would you want to do this. What if you never get the title. 2.Does this trailer have a serial number, and is it a factory made trailer or home made. Seriously you need to find out from the seller if he has a title. Also if it is not paid off, is he going to get you the title. What happens if he doesn't pay it off, ...

That's some very good questions AK Sunrise. Since it's been years since these type of machines were used, it might take a while before someone with knowledge can answer the questions. Let's hope someone does.

sounds like some of my luck A crew is working to remove a 100,000-pound crane that toppled onto a Santa Rosa house and smashed it in half. No one was hurt in the Monday afternoon accident, which happened as workers were removing an unstable oak tree in the front yard. Rich Kingsborough of Atlas Tree Surgery, which was was removing the tree, says a large section of the tree that...

I think going up zig zagging is a very bad idea. The last thing you want to do it start sliding sideways on that slope. Try going up backwards if your machine seems rear heavy. This will also come in handy if start to slide as you can use your blade and also see where you are going! Only other way I can think of (if you reeeeeeally need to get up there) is to start at the bottom and cut ...
