Well, there's a reason why it sold so fast. I doubt you'll find another deal that good again. You can get a 5th gen for around 80 as well.

HPA, is there a thread where you describe your experience with the EF2 ? I am particularly interested in your tube-rolling efforts and what it has cost you to get it to the level of performance you describe. I had previously read that it was a good introduction to tube amps, and had plenty of power, but was too bright for most. If I can locate a pair of HD600s for the right price in Singapore, I suspect that a tube amp will be on my shopping...

I would put my money on the HiFiMAN HM-801 as well. Pre-ordering is not open as of right now, but I do not think it will take all that long for it to open again.

Nick. Take a look at Ayre QB8 thread. Some people are claiming that they can hear some notes that they never heard before. Whether that's a pure placebo or an actual improvements by the reduction in jitter, who knows..

What I do have is the Phat, Slim, and a Sansa Fuze.
The Phat's SQ is indeed mediocre, and the Slim's isn't much better.

I suggest if you can you should sample them both. They sound completely different. I've got both and love them both though. I'd definitely take the K701s in case of a fire though.

A++. Positive feedback :
My first purchase on head-fi and I ordered from TLY the Akg k702's. Condition was excellent as stated and the shipping was done very fast in a timely manner.
Would do business again in the future if needed to.
Highly Recommended!

Hi all!
I got my essence today and am enjoying it thoroughly. Would have enjoyed it even more if not for a weird (and very short) reverb of the highs. I think someone else noticed it on this thread.
I am using my essence with AD700s and their sparkly highs make it a bit tedious to listen to music for a long time. Couple this with the weird reverb and the music starts to sound very ...

It might, if the amount of noise going over the USB is different between different computers, or if one computer has a better internal clock (Amarra, from what I can see, uses the input clock in a Mac to send a better timed digital signal to a DAC for example). It would be interesting I think if someone with the right gear could do some measurements to find out.
An interesting experiment one ...

Without actual A/B all discussions are baseless.
Someone has to have both (or had UE11 Pro) and compare the two for actual information.
One thing's for certain, I expect BETTER workmanship than what UE (under logitech) has shown(not terrible, but not what it used to be).

thats the price of the quads :P , tbh i like the tf10 much more than the shures, i can't believe sam compares his quads to the shures , and says they are vocal based. I idk if its vocal based only, but that was a disappointment :S
