Athens, GA - Dec 5th - Salvation...
Published (2009-11-24 23:42:00)
Depending on the weather and my "honey - do" status, I'm tentatively planning on riding over from my home in Woodstock for this event. Thought I'd start a thread and see if anyone else in my area is interested or anyone in the Athens area would be interested in a rendezvous/meet and greet either before or after. oil change concerns
Published (2009-11-24 10:40:00)
Re: oil change concerns You can't buy the derby cover gasket by itself. When I went to buy the derby cover gasket, it came with all (3) "O" rings which is a Good thing. I just don't know about some dealership techs. Some of them are just plain old slackers cutting corners whenever possible. It would drive me nuts to see old "O" rings from a dealership oil change.

Aside from a wiring problem the sensor usually will require replacement. Cleaning sometimes helps but is only temporary.

If it were my bike, I would buy a build it yourself exhaust kit, tac it together myself and then have a shop weld it. I think that either Mid-USA motorcycle parts or MC Advantages sells these kits.

Personally would not use SYN3, it is cheap oil, go with a good synthetic like Amsoil, Royal Purple, or something like that, i would run regular oil in the primary not synthetic, I don't cause I don't want it to make the clutch slip. JMO. Engine and tranny definately run it. Good luck.

It's always good to carry a tool kit on your bike, if not for yourself, maybe for a buddy. There are several different kits you can buy with the tools already in them. As for parts with the bikes of today there's not much need to carry extras........maybe an extra set of spark plugs, but that's about it.

These Kinds of Encounters Shouldn't surprise me anymore...
As I pull my bike into the parking lot at the gym the other day, a guy walks by:
guy: kinda cold to be riding, isn't it? (seemingly interested)
me: feels great... as long as the roads are dry it's all good
guy: how much did that bike cost?
me: around $20k (...

Hence to member VACharvel, I am truely sorry for what I posted and hope you can in your heart forgive me for this. My being placed in the brig was just and appropriate, and I did a lot of soul searching and pondering. What I posted was truely a sin and I ...

Central location would be somewhere in southern Missouri and northern Arkansas, the Ozarks. I would consider it. Great riding area. I traveled thru that area on my way back from the HD 105th. Beautiful ride.

I ride a Heritage 2-up with no problems however the RKC would be more comfortable since it has the touring frame. I think many on this forum would agree.
