What OS are you running? Daemon tools would have created a virtual DVD drive in device manager. Uninstall that device also.

Well I use AVG for viruses (though sometimes their releases get buggy so in those times I use Avira AntiVir, a good program too). Then I use SpyBot Search and Destroy, SUPERAntispyware, and Spyware Blaster. Between these four utilities my computers stay pretty clean. If you PM me with your email address, I'd be happy to send you my tutorial (or anyone who would like it). It is a Word file (.doc), so if you don't have Microsoft Office...

Sorry, abdul. I mis-read your earlier post. Suggest that you narrow down the issue to the monitor or the motherboard. Try plugging the monitor onto another working system and see if it works. If it does, you ought to be able to eliminate the monitor as the problem. If the monitor checks out okay, it may be that the integrated graphics chip on your motherboard is dead. If it is, there is really nothing much to do about that, except for...

You could also try unplugging the monitor for a few hours, then plug it back again and retest it.

You should always test your setup OUTSIDE the case on a nonconductive surface first. You might have put in an extra standoff under the motherboard, which would ground it out.
300W is pretty small nowadays.

There are tons of taskbar etc type of tweaks/repalcements already available...Theres even one to add the network icon back to the systray

Do you see an amber light at the monitor (where the green one would be)?
Do you have a separate video card, or do you have video built into the motherboard (integrated graphics)? If you have integrated graphics, what is the maker and model of your motherboard? If you have a separate video card, what is the maker and model of it?

Have an old asus board and lost the papers? Any tool to use? Or way to find out the board. It works fine. Trying to upgrade the memory. it has IMWN14336769 AA A64181-203 on the green board.

Single green lines are usually a problem with the LCD hardware (If you play with the angle it might be the wiring between the panel and controller). Have you tried an external display to confirm ?

Did you install the chipset/video/etc drivers for the mobo?
