Error 23. Some say hardware problem some say try flash wed firmware 2.2 or uninstal itune etc. Try and use WINPWN,2.5 BETA. Use file CUSTOM_IPHONE.1,2_2.0.2_5C1_RESTORE. May be this can work. Any other option ?

A full reset (home & power) of the phone took a long time to restart, and then seemed to have cleared things up. However, eventually it started acting slow again (although not as bad most of the time, still very obvious on unlocking screen etc.). It might have been triggered by joining a wifi network. Is no one else seeing this extreme slowness on stock 3.1.2? I'm thinking it could be related to...

No changes have been made to better support 2.3 in this version so if the missing features during quicktime playback are a problem then i'd still suggest staying at 2.1.

You can still upgrade to 2.4, Apple has that version available for download still.
Anything before 2.4 has been taken off Apple's download server. I think 2.1 is the minimum that works with ITMS now.

1) How do I active in iTunes without having to sign a contract?
2) Will this process work if then phone is restored using iTunes to the latestest software, then activated using iTunes to sign the cert, then jailbroken using blackra1n in order to install OpenSSH in order to access the cert files?
