Daisy, if you followed all of my instructions, it sounds to me like you need a new PSU. As I said, it provides power to the entire computer. If none of the fans even twitches when the power button is pushed, they are not getting power.

First, print a Network Config Page from the front panel of your printer. Its current IP address is what you want to set it (static) to. Access your Linksys router by typing its IP address (192.168.1.1) into a browser. Login is [none] and password is 'admin'. I am not sure what model you have but look for either DHCP settings or Static IP addressing. Once it is set (and you hit Save or Update or whatever), you will...

Hi, I use Acronis True Image Home to create a backup of the entire OS partition. Acronis is quite simple to automate. For my business clients with HP desktops and laptops I use the HP Backup and Recovery. Automation of the backup process acn be done through the use of Windows Task scheduler with a script. regards, erico

Make sure you blow the motherboard and cards free of dust with an air compressor (not the can) Remove any external media from your USB Card readers. Don't plug any iPods, external HDDs, thumb drives into the USB/1394 ports. Don't plug in your external devices except keyboard and mouse. Only have your HDD connected and see if it boots Add things in 1 by one until you find the culprit.

See if pp. 17 will help. The HDD & PMD are housed in a single cage, and you do not need to remove the front bezel to gain access, but if you have a PMD in the bay, eject that first. http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01457519.pdf Just be careful when lifting the cage because there may be some wiring for the WiFi & HDD LED's close by. On the left of the router web page, you'll have an option named 'LAN Setup'. Click on this, and you'll have an option to reserve an IP address. This list should list the printer and its 169.254.x.x IP address. Click on the radio button next to it, click on Edit, and change the 169.254 IP address into one that complies with the DHCP server and your IP settings, then Apply the settings, and then restart the printer. It...

Did you say you have Vista basic? According to the upgrade program, you can't upgrade Vista basic to Windows 7 with the HP disc, nor using the Microsoft Windows 7 upgrade disc. Maybe that's why?

Have you already tried removing the battery and the power cord and letting it sit without power for at least a minute? BIOS updates usually go pretty well as long as you follow the instructions and don't bother the unit while it's updating..

I updated 3 weeks ago from 2.42 5811 to 2.51 6917 and lost the option for a HDMI output under Speaker Selection. I do not play HD DVDs so I do not know about that problem, only play Blu-Ray. Do you have a Speaker Selection for HDMI? Have been working with HP Support to see what is going on for a week now with no resolution. This software has been a thorn in my side ever since I got ...

I bought a E9150t with 8Gb , 1Tb HDD , 1Gb ATI HD4650 card and TV tuner card around the same time as you. I had been having lockups and freezes since the days I received my PC. I spent 10 days updating all the drivers and reading forums to find a solution but nothing helped. Finally I called HP support and they were just blindly trying to make me do some regular stuff which they always ...

I don't believe that it is possible to transfer any of the software that came originally with your computer to the new OS. Normally, there is no way to install the programs separately from the Recovery Discs provided by HP.

I too am waiting to hear the initial reports on 9280 / 9290 - but it may be a while before some reviews show up., as these are both new models and have been out just about a week or so now. The thing to watch out for is the Mobo brand and type - if its the same as was used in the previous series (and is riddled with problems) or has been replaced with a different one - fingers ...

Dear all, I just installed Windows 7 RC onto my HP HDX 16t last night. It works woderfully, except it wasn't recognizing any of the hp drivers for my computed except for the HP Media Smart Help document. So, I re-downloaded all of the hp drivers. I can see that the HP programs under c:/Program Files and c:/Program Files x86 folders, but Windows 7 still isn't recognizing the hp ...

I don't know if this helps any of us but there IS a class action lawsuit against HP for this very thing!!! Here is the website. At least it is a start to finding out what to do about ours. Maybe we can join this suit and make them honor their faulty product! Hope I don't get deleted like some of the posts recently! I think HP is fully aware of this. I have my opinions as to why ...
