Okay, got started this weekend, see the pics below. I got both pieces from two different sources on e-bay. The neck was about 22 dollars and the kiln dried ash blank was 15. I cut the head stock with a jigsaw and sanded it with a sanding block and finished it off with one of those sanding sponges. I intended to cut out the neck pocket first, so there was some wood around it to support the router, then I would cut out the rest. The router...

Mine is...strumming the wrong strings while at the same time trying to fret down the chords/notes. I'm always looking back and forth (strumming/fretting)...is there a remedy to this or will I just have to memorize? I'm getting a little dizzy and lightheaded doing this.

Garage Band is a great tool for songwriting, practicing; just about anything involving music. It is used by anyone from beginners to professional songwriters/producers, etc. It is a very, very easy program to use and it was designed so anyone could use it to make music.
As far as general questions, it all depends on where you are at currently in using the software. Do you have any ...

Scooter,
The key thing that I always say to all beginning students is that you have to fall in love with the process of learning. You are taking on a brand new task that at times can seem quite monolithic, but if you learn to fall in love with the process of learning; it will truly make the journey worth while. If you truly enjoy playing and learning, you will get better and you will ...

I think so. You have options now of learning all the theory you could need to play any style, plus specifically Blues courses, plus learning songs that are being regularly posted, such as SRV's The Sky is Crying.
Does that help?

Don't worry, the fingers will start to build caluses (? sp) and the soreness will eventually go away. Until then you just suffer through it and keep having fun.
I think you'll find this site quite helpful in getting you started. Starting with Fundamentals 1 is a great place to start. Just take it slow and make sure you understand something before you move on. If you don't understand ...
