NFL Picks & Talk - Week #11
Published (2009-11-23 17:58:00)
Another disasterous week for me. I don't even want to add them up, though I think I'd only need 1 hand. I would have put good money on the Skins covering in Dallas, though. It's rare for more than a score to separate those 2 and the Skins have been winning their share against the Boys of late even though the Dallas has been the better team.

Why can I not close the club face?

Contrary to what someone else posted, Closing the club face IS KEY to stopping a slice. An OUT TO IN club path WILL NOT cause a slice. IF the club face is SQUARE to the path of the swing, you hit a PULL, not a slice. BUT, if the clubface is open in relationship to the swing path, you CAN hit a big slice with an IN TO OUT swing path. And while it's TRUE, that most golfers that fight a slice, ALSO come over the top with their swing,...

Ball Flight Laws are just physics and aren't debatable...they just are...there are five of them...the key stuff is below taken from here: Ball Flight Laws | GolfLink.com Ball Flight Law | Major Golf Lesson It's part of the PGA instructor training...really no room for creative interpertatation... What Twill was referring to was this: Great Golf: Ball Flight Laws Increase Clubhead Speed to Add Distance One of the big differences...

Nike Dymo Str8-Fit Drivers
Published (2009-11-24 21:39:00)
Well, I picked a RH Nike Dymo Str8-FIT up on Ebay for my son (79-gm X-stiff UST Axivcore blue) because the price was too low to pass up ($60) when most are going over $100...I'm pretty sure that even if he doesn't like it, I can get my money back if not more :-) . Having said that, I noticed that I overlooked a similar driver that I had put in my watch list (can't keep track of all of them in there) that had no reserve and no...

Closing the clubface is not the reason for your slice. You need to get the club coming into the ball on an in to out path. Stack and tilt changed me from a chronic slicer to a drawer of the golf ball. There are a few ways to get the club on the right path. The first is concentrating on keeping the handle in front of the club head throughout the swing. Another is maintaining pressure between your upper arms and your ribs. You're probably...

I think the confusion here is target, and target line as opposed to swing and swing line. There are 9 basic directions a ball in flight can go (right handed golfer oriented) 1. Straight at target 2. Straight, turn left 3. Straight, turn right 4. Pulled straight 5. Pulled, turn left 6. Pulled, turn right 7. Pushed straight 8. Pushed, turn left 9. Pushed, turn right Any hooks, pull hook, slices, or push slices are exaggerated variations of...

Bulls...I think that the loft differential is dut ot the opening and
closing of the clubface ...opening reduces the effective loft while closing
the opposite...I can't remember exactly but I want to say that for each
degree open the face angle is you lose .6* effective loft and vice versa...

Things are winding down for many of us with the approach of the season I will not name. Hopefully I'll be able to play for another month(knocks wood). This is the time of year when rates & traffic are down and I also happen to have a lot of time off, so I travel around the area playing a lot of the better places that time and money keep me away from in season. Have any of you ...

Good opening weekend of football. As you stated, there were some big games but the rest were pretty much blowouts (USC and Florida, just to name a few). The only other game you didn't mention was Boise St. And Oregon. Oregon went to Boise on Thursday night and ended up losing the game 19-8. Boise St. outplayed Oregon by quite a bit but couldn't do much once they got in the red zone. If I ...

At the tail end of a miserable round on Sunday, I hit a 7 iron from 155 that stopped 6" right of the hole for a kick in birdie. Only decent iron shot I hit all day.

I travel all over Oregon, California and Arizona staying at some of the best (and not so good) golf resorts and playing many of the top golf courses. I'm want to start a newsletter that provides unbiased information to readers about my golf travel and golf playing experiences. I stay at about 50 resorts a year, almost once a week. I'm a 7 handicap. I know these destinations and...

Club face angle, path, club head speed, angle of attack and centredness of impact.
Face angle mostly determines starting point and then path relative to face angle determines curvature. All else being equal.
