shaft length-graphite vs steel
Published (2009-11-21 21:50:00)
Hi there: Unfortunately this is correct. The reason for it is so they can preserve some of the swingweight of the lighter clubs. If the swingweight is too light, it will feel like you are swinging a feather, and will not have much swing feel at all to them. Another drawback of this length, is that it makes it harder to hit on-center shots consistently. The longer the clubs get, the harder they are to hit well and consistently. Get...

Undue Delay

I don't believe an official's opinion can over-ride the player's rights. He is entitled to search for five minutes for his ball, and that cannot be curtailed. On the matter of returning to the tee after declaring the ball unplayable, it's slightly different in that the player can do this without finding the ball. If that was definitely the player's intention before finding the ball, there seems to be no...

Lost Ball

I'm afraid suspicion is not enough. You have to know or be virtually certain that is was removed by an another player (ie an outside agency). In effect you need a witness. The ball must be treated as lost

relief

where to take relief? a ball lands on a path behind the green & between a garden which is deemed to be in play.the ball is closer to the garden than the green side ,behind a bunker. does one take a drop in the garden? Williamhancock.

Dont panic too much .....I know its hard to describe the situation into detail ...... To simplify things , where is your nearest point of relief ? if its in the garden , then yeah , the garden it is .......

Sorry about the Bold and Underlined for my first question to this site; not my intention to send off an email in this manner; was a mistake. With all due respect to RH and OKHC, wow, you guys are off base. Nice bs type guesses that are incorrect. You all need to come out and play golf at some great courses in NV, AZ, NM, West TX or Western Mexico.

Desert Rule

hi i, that wasn't a guess, and it's not BS; it's paraphrased from the Handicap System Manual. What do you suggest that the answer is? And I have played at least 20 times in the Phoenix area.

When the committee decide it is unfit for play.
eg all greens flooded, course under snow. Bad weather is not of itself sufficient justification.
However if there is lightning play must be suspended or discontinues.

Any time you think your ball may be out of bounds or lost outside a water hazard you can play a provisional ball. With multiple provisionals, each bears a relationship to the previous ball the same as provisional number one bears to the original ball.
In your case, You've played five ball in total. Your original was thought to be OOB, so it is right to play a provisional (call it P1). This...

There has been no change to the Rule. I didn't see the incident so I don't know, but if it happened as you say, rule 18-5 requires the ball to be replaced.

Thanks for the advice and the info on the clubfitters website. I went out there and found a couple of individuals within a reasonable drive from my home. I will be contacting them. I made the mistake of buying my last driver from Edwin Watts and they said they were "fitting" me (I was very naive at the time). I spent 5 minutes on a launcher and they said they had all the info they needed to sell...
