The Copper Country News ran a short article just recently about Seneca Lake. They run a "Then & Now" section each week to rerun articles from past publications. Ted Lake, a local writer and historian wrote back in 1971 that in June, 1971, "The new $524,000 recreational facility built by the San Carlos Apache Tribe, called Cinema Park is now open to the public." Man dies near Bodie

Bodie usually is listed in the local paper as having the lowest temperature for the prior day. Be prepared when going out, and don't go alone when it's extremely cold, hot, wet, etc.

Yep. Sounds like you got some good advice. You'd likely be Tasered, arrested, and locked up with terrorism charges if you were caught in Calico like that. Hey my wife and I spent Christmas in Vienna a few years ago. We had dinner at the Rathaus. I remember wandering around the Christmas village and that wonderful, hot, spiced drink.

Sounds like a fun trip. I live near Beaverton, wouldn't take much more than an hour or two to get to Camas. I've got a couple friends who might be interested, and we could take a Jeep or a 4x4 Kia. BTW, what did they mine there?

Thanks so much for the pictures. I'm so upset that I had to miss the Ghost Town Rally up there a few years ago, but I had to go to my best friend's brother's and niece's funeral that weekend.

Well they're still good shots Don! Keep looking I know we would all like to see it a genuine "Ghost city". Jerome is a sweet little berg. I spent a few days there in 00'. That old hotel was still there but the old hospital further up the hill was remodeled as the current hotel. It was a neat old building but I guess you can never get that hospital smell out. <

Hello, I do a lot of hiking in the area around Globe. I have been up in Laveen wash and noticed a bunch of foundations and shafts in the area. Does anyone have any history of this area? I think there is Murphy Ranch, Hicks Spring, etc. Also, I have come across a bunch of stones on top of most of the hills that seem to be arranged in a structural form. I've been told that these are ...
