With the state of digital technology today anyone with Photoshop and a little time can hoax a picture to theextent experts can't detect it. Thus all digital images are suspect, even the best of them made with the best cameras. There are even programs that allow one to modify the EXIF data so that isn't reliable any more. Film can also be hoaxed, however the expense involved generally deters most from trying. So film with negatives...

For paranormal photographs, does a digial camera work as well as a camera that uses film? Or does a digital work better?

This is one piece of equipment that goes into my "buy the best you can" category. If your going to be shooting alot of pics, it would only be natural to have a good quality camera. For myself, I'd go with a digital. Like aptly pointed out above, in the end, it's still only a picture. So, I'd go with the easier method. It's nice to have immediate access to the pics you've taken. And honestly, if you...

From my understanding both have pros and cons. Digital gives you instant feedback, however they can be altered easier with programs such as photoshop causing them to be more questionable. A camera that uses film has negatives that can be looked at to see if the developed photo itself was altered or if something shows up in the negative as well making it a bit more solid evidence. however you have the expense of buying film and getting it...

I don't want to turn this into a religious thread.. your question "what about mediums and different gods" is the wrong, but obvious question to ask. Think from the other end of the spectrum, not which religion is right.. but what is the agenda of the spirits in these cases.. is it possible they are trying to trick or mislead people? That is the question that needs to be asked and considered.

The EVP was unimpressive to me since I couldn't hear anything other than the people talking. As for the second video, I was at least impressed that they were using red lights until I heard the reason for it was to avoid the cops. It should have been used as it doesn't mess with I/R filming. I was NOT impressed at all with these guys breaking into a location illegally to film and turned ...

QUOTE (Haunted_Ship @ Aug 11 2009, 09:14 PM) This topic appears old and has had no responses for a couple of years, but I guess I'll revive it. My experiences with the paranormal have been mainly scary. A couple of times - once I had a ghost sit on the edge of my bed and rub my back shortly after I went to bed, the next morning a white imprint of a hand was on my sheet - my ...

Yep, can be done. You need a preamp to boost the audio level of the mic for improved sensitivity. Also a voice activated switch to provide for the transmit function if audio was present. Such a device can be built, I would say at around $50 - $75 per unit. It would work with any general purpose mic too. I built them years ago for use in conjunction with CB radios when they were popular...

I have been to Edinburgh once, but I don't remember a witchery. Neat place, though.

Hi ravenhecate, It's certainly very rare for a person to have never had a nightmare. In general, the older we get, the less we have them. Nightmares plague children most often because kids are processing so much information all of the time it can be overwhelming. We all deal with issues in our life in different ways. Not having nightmares isn't necessarily a sign that you're not processing your...

I do believe that my daughter sees ghosts. But I can't speak for her since she is just a toddler. I, on the other hand, had some scary experiences as a child with paranormal encounters. I just started my blog, and I will be posting my stories there.

Depends on what you want it for. Witness interviews and logging purposes any reliable recorder will do. Stay away from the ultra cheapo ones, theyare prone to breakdowns. You could likey get a decent one around $50 and up. For EVP work you need stereo capabilities and decent sample rate to prevent false positives. You may get EVPs on cheap ones but they also are prone to false positives...

I prefer the chrome or metal tapes over regular because it can provide slightly better s/n ratio and high frequency response. Of course that comes with the conditions that your recorder is set up to use metal tape. The response is different and requires different equalization. Recorders providing this feature have a switch to select which mode you want. Otherwise any good low noise ...

Forget software and using conventional audio for infrasound. Instead consider vibration detection equipment. These will go down well into the subaudio frequencies. I use an inductive sensor for this which floats in a magnetic field and utilizes the surface area itself as a sensor. It will respond to .5 Hz up to about 15 Hz. The output is displayed on an oscilloscope since it is below ...

When we have an interest in a subject (in this case...Mediumship which is the communication with the so-called dead) we learn all we can at the same time as we hone our own particular talents. A brain surgeon has education before he uses the knife (or at least, I wouldn't want one without education to open my brain). So why don't more people understand that there are some very important ...
