IT & Technology : Architect (Full time) My client is seeking a seasoned applications architect to join his small team and work through the large pipeline of work. You will work for a hands off manager who will expect you to be a self starter able to manage several different priorities and projects at once. jaymz: sbiddle: This is standard practice on most GSM/WCDMA networks when you roam. Vodafone and Telecom have always done this as well. Yeah, I will have to disagree with you there. My wife's phone which is on a plan with Vodafone never recieved a message when we were over there, nor did she receive one when we went to the Gold Coast last year. Not sure about Telecom as I haven't roamed with them before. I have received...

That model doesn't seem that old, it's pretty crap NEC don't offer Windows 7 drivers for it. Best course of action may be to reinstall Windows XP on it, sell it then buy a brand that has better ongoing support.

Full HD or HD ready

login: My rule of thumb is that if you are buying 32 inch or smaller you are unlikely to spot a difference between HD ready (1376 x 1080i) and full HD (1920 x 1080p) unless you habitually watch it from a distance of under 1 metre! Just as a minor correction HD ready is typically 1280x768/720 or 1366x768/720 depending on the panel type. It is not 1080 lines. Full HD is 1920x1080 - and not necessarily progressive scan either - while...

Draytek's are great but they are expensive $125+ for something that is just doing the adsl connection then passing on to the router, seems a waste to me but if you want the full pppoa to pppoe bridge it's the way to go. TP Link TD 8840 is a good cheap option ~$70, it's basically the same reliable broadcom chipset as the DSE XH9949 and the Dynalink RTA1320 but it's not as ugly as the DSE...

Yes it will work but you will have to unlock it. Unlocking tends to be reasonably straight forward these days. Keep in mind though you will have no warranty.

I built a HTPC using a 780G motherboard (Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-US2H) back in May this year. Hardware acceleration works fine, and I haven't encountered any problems with Freeview|HD. I use the Cyberlink PowerDVD H264 codec for video and Monogram AAC codec and AC3 Filter for audio. I'm currently using ATI Catalyst version 9.7.

You hate the taste and smell of alcohols in general? Methanol, ethanol, isopropyl, etc? Or you just hate the taste/small of booze? All booze? Beer, wine, RTDs, cosmo, manhatten, screwdriver. I haven't met a person that doesn't like a good appletini! Also, why do you care if everyone drinks? How does that affect you and your life choices? Is it the peer pressure? Don't let it get to you...

They say HTTP traffic should not be affected . I suffered terrible performance on bigtime trying browse,in fact trying to do anything. After changing to the the Pro plan no issues what so ever. I now run at my line speed as oposed to just a little above dial up. Telecom is throttling everything on the Bigtime plan to the point it barely meets the broadband requirements....

Well, ever since I worked out you can buy PCI satellite cards for your computer, I have become more interested in Freeview Satellite. However, I am plagued with an odd situation. My family run a small Motel in Wellsford. We have Sky Television, however it was set-up in the strangest way possible. We have 3 Sky decoders (One for each channel: Sky ...

Yep that's a UHF antenna - but your signal strength for freeview will dictate how well Tivo will work, digital signals are a lot more fussy than the old analogue system and the roof cavity isn't the best place for an antenna. I don't have a Tivo myself as i'm not in the freeview UHF area but it looks like a great system I would be happy to get rid of sky and just have tivo
