Why do you suspect overheating, is the casing getting really hot? I mean it could be anything manufacturing defect, firmware bug etc.

PSU Requirements?

I'd say a 650w from any good manufacturer: Corsair, Silverstone, Enermax would do it :) It's a power hungry card, though not quite as power hungry as the 4870X2 Have you considered the 5870? or the 5970 coming out next month apparently, which is basically a 5870X2 :S but would probably have the low power consumptions that the new cards come with. Think the GT300 is coming out soon too, but apparently that's anytime in Q1 2010 :S

Ahh thanks for clarifying that. Two Degrees had both 800 and 900 spectrum. They traded their 800 spectrum with the MED for additional 900 spectrum in January but kept a single 1Mhz block. Biddle Corp is powered by VFX trixbox Faktortel GB-PVR

Sounddude: Will monitor it over the next couple of days. How you getting on Aarona? Called off the dogs yet? :P At this point in time, I think so! It's looking pretty good at the moment - other than my connection to my mate over in England, still going at very slow speeds. But general web browsing + downloading files has improved significantly. I did a speed test at 7pm the other day to the Auckland server, it came back saying 7mbps -...

stroke64: YAY - finally (hopefully) I can use my PS3 to play *all* the Freview HD content I record on my MythTV backend, not just TV3. I won't even bother with buying a PlayTV device, not when a dual DVB-T tuner for my PC is around half the price. How does this help you? The update is only for PlayTV, isn't it?

That'll be your browser playing up. I assume you're using IE6 or similar? I get it all the time on my work PC. Copy the URL from the page you're on, put it into the address bar in IE, hit go and it MIGHT reload the page correctly.

Sorry, there are no dual dvb-s pci cards. There are dual dvb-t... And there are usb DVB-S tuners. For PCIe there is the black gold which is tual dvb-t, dual dvb-s and dual analog. Runs to about $400 i think and has to be imported. A couple of users here on GZ have obtained them.

It should be fine. Make sure you check the conditions again - sometimes there are a minimum number of days, and sometimes you must also pay your other expenses (incl. accommodation and food) with the card - or at least a % of your expenses.

I doubt, but could be wrong, that Telecom or any other ISP, will target any online gaming with their traffic shaping. Online gaming does not use a lot of traffic, especially compared to youtube, other dubious movie streaming sites or illegal torrents. 100,000 ping? not sure if that is even possible...

Wow, that would be great! I'm looking at getting one, assuming i'd have to go with VF. Can you be any more specific about a release date?
Do, or do not. There is no try.

The Consumer test method only managed to get differences in performance by daisy chaining the cables out past 26 metres. Foolishly they ranked the cables with scores between 8.7 - 9.4 for picture. Choice, the Australian magazine used the same results but just said that there was no difference in performance.
