I'd expect attitude control on the ISS to be done with gyros, so no need to expend fuel there. Moving the arm slowly might just be to keep forces within the limits the gyros can handle. The shuttle may be a different fish, gyros are heavy, for a vehicle that's going into orbit for relatively short missions, it might be more fuel-efficient to use thrusters for attitude control. How all that works when the shuttle's docked to the...

*looky look* At $700 I wouldn't want one myself, but if it works as advertised, it's the first computer I have seen that I can imagine my 86 year old mother using. It is also encouraging to see such radical, innovative, user focussed design coming from somewhere other than Cupertino. What with this, Google's new OS, and the Apple tablet, we may be at the start of a very interesting period in computer and OS design....

Okay, an update for everyone. I ran DiskWarrior on both the internal drive and my external boot volume. Everything works (boots, etc), but will need time to see if it shook all the gunk out; i.e. will need to wait until Mrs Tweety's Mac comes home to see what shows up when I connect from her machine to mine. An interesting side effect was my "Open With" menu suddenly had 4 entries for a lot of apps. Cleared that out and all is...

Hi all. This is my first post. I hope this is in the right forum. Anyway, on with my post. It's kind of long, but some context is needed.
