Bob Barker donates $3 million to...
Published (2009-11-29 03:01:00)
QUOTE (fishbulb @ Nov 28 2009, 10:22 PM) Barker has done a good thing, of course. But was anyone else's first reaction on reading this, "Why the hell isn't the gov't doing this?" No, because the article didn't say whether they were or weren't and I didn't think it was necessary to politicize the thread.

QUOTE (DjohnsonCB @ Nov 29 2009, 03:12 PM) Does the original Art Fleming Jeopardy! count? The most $ anyone won there was around $1500, plus the encyclopedia set and the home game, and the set was "tacky cardboard" if you believe Maxene Fabe. I don't think it does. I compare what you could win on shows at the same time, and the thousand dollars or so on Jeopardy! is...

Chasing Christmas lights

I don't proclaim to be a Christmas light connoisseur or even related to Clark Griswold, however doing some searching online I was able to find a few items that might match what you're looking for. http://www.americansale.com/Products/150-M...ts__202893.aspx ("Two light chasing" is one of the patterns and all white bulbs are available) It would appear to be a $20.38(ish) gamble to buy them and have them...

Having not seen the show, it's possible the shampoo was either Sam's Club-sized or a specialized shampoo. A 12-ounce bottle of Denorex goes for $8.49 on the Walgreens web site .

I guess that spat with Betty White leading up to the GSN Awards may've forced "the World's Greatest MC" to "change tactics" a bit. Still, it doesn't change my position that Barker's fighting a "lost cause" as far as animals are concerned. He STILL can't get a sick elephant out of a zoo. I don't see how helping our wounded troops will make it any better.

No question: smush FYI, the idea for the show's party vibe actually came from its creators, Jellyvision, who actually taped their own pilot for the show at somebody's house. I for one liked the vibe, and I certainly liked the clever gameplay. But only $8,000? They couldn't have at least played for $10,000? Really?

Just spotted the 2nd Edition Wheel of Fortune Plug N Play at Kmart ($21.99). The colors are different, it boasts 360 new puzzles, and it seems to make use of some of the newer gimmicks on the show such as the WILD card. I would have rathered that they stuck with the original "GameKey" idea where you buy new cartridges instead of scrapping that idea and releasing a new console every so often....

QUOTE (davemackey @ Nov 26 2009, 11:10 PM) If there was any doubt about the background music on the Macy's Parade on NBC, the Pillsbury Doughboy was ushered into the parade review area with an arrangement of the theme from "Camouflage" - a cue I've never heard before on the parade. Milton Delugg is 90 and he still pumps the funk. Is this available to listen to or watch anywhere?...

FWIW, I remember the old CBS airings of All in the Family actually started in black with an announcer saying "from Television City in Hollywood", then faded up to Archie and Edith singing the song. Even at such a young age I thought it was weird that they'd start the show in black.
