I think a possible reason for the hummer feeling slightly cartoony is that the edges are just a tiny bit too soft. It feels like they should be a little bit sharper. For exaple the doors and the edge of the wheel wells. I don't know if they are that soft in real life but sometimes you have to ignore it and do what looks right *edit* Same thing with the square top on mlrs' launcher, second image. Corners just feel too soft, like the...

Looks flat. Add more wear and tear to areas that should have weathering. Also possibly add a normal map to get some detail in. In the 4th picture the cinder blocks are way big and make the model look tiny

You have a normal map and spec on that thing? Could of fooled me :S
Right now it's too monotone, throw in some more color and sharper details, and make use of your normal map and spec map.

Very slow progress on this darn handgun as I've got other contracted models in the works at the same time, so it's something I spend minutes on here and there whenever I get a chance.
Lowpoly game mesh with baked normal maps applied, plus some text using the nvidia plugin. So far the colour and spec maps consist of just 2 basecolours and some noice.
Highpoly mesh used for ...

Looks nice mate. The models and textures look very nice, and the lighting still gives off a dark freaky look and feel with out everything being grey and dull.
So when do we get to play? Lol

Colt M4 Carbine for Unity
I started a rifle for a FPS demo scene I'm working on in conjunction with a USMC character.
So far these are some screens of the wires, occlusion render and a 0.5% start on the texturing of the model. Right now the model runs in at 6,00 tris and am working on a 2048 texture...but will use compression tool ...

That's looking pretty cool. Too tired to give you a proper critique but the pose seems a bit too bent backwards and it looks like he's packing something serious in the trousers (crotch). The leg pouches look a bit blobby too, but other than that it's looking good. Boots need more definititon.

It will last as long as you want it too, the industry is very competitive, age doesn't matter portfolio matters, 2-3 years sounds about right.
26 is around the age people leave uni and get jobs, you arn't too old.
there will always be crunch time.
Hope this helps mate.
