Well... for the last 3 weeks or so I decided I was going to see what would happen if I applied for a corporate "real world" job. I have no degree, and no real amount of lengthy design related experience other than JW. For the last 5 years i've been busy building and maintaining JW. I've held management before and things like that.. but nothing design related. I guess part of me wondered if I was...

So as not to escalate another thread.... Part A: When is it okay to do work for free? - To entice potential clients? - For contests? - When you are working on a project for a first time client? - When you are working on a project of a repeat client? Part B: When trying to entice clients to use your service and you offer free concepts, does that cheapen you as the designer? Does it hurt the...

A few times recently I made what I felt were decent enough designs, but the client wasn't happy. I wonder if anyone has advice on how to "sell" your design to clients--how do you present it, how do you talk it up, how do you help the client see the effectiveness of a design?

Sorry if this is wrong place to post . Trying to find a way ( for logo) to lengthen the tail of a dog in a photo such that it curves, loops, etc into a word , and then just a tail again before ending. Just adding a fur texture with -say- Alien sSkin eyecandy wouldn't look right . I'd want the direction of the hair to look realistic . Would like to be able to grab the color & texture of the...

We worked on it corresponding via email for a few days, she told me what she liked/ didn't like about the piece. I made the proper corrections etc....I did a few different variations of the ...

I have the educational version of Creative Suite 2 for Windows (four CD set: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat 7 pro, Distiller, Live Cycle Designer, Adobe Stock Photos, Bridge, Version Cue, and two resource disks). I bought it new. It's the real deal. The serial number is clean and has only been registered by me. I have performed a proper uninstall with a "transfer" of activation. The ...

Hi everyone, I'm having trouble with a logo trying to turn a jpg into a gif. When it's turned into a gif I get the white edge around the text. I have tried different settings in optimizing, turned the matte off etc and nothing will work. The image looks fine on a light background but on a darker one you see the edging. Any help would be great, I'm getting pretty frustrated, so is my client. ...

Hey just checking to see what you guys thought of this.. This is a non-profit that does airplane missionary work. Which consists of supply dropoffs for hurricane relief. They also fly families to different hospital locations, when life flight choppers can't take them, so the families can be with the victims. http://timchilcott.com/cutenews/data/upimages/WING S.png
