Your dealer can give you order order number. It is a 6 digit and letter combo. From there you can either have them track it or call the 1-800 customer service number. My truck was built on the 29th of Oct and hit the dealers lot Nov 12. The waiting part was getting the order (allocation) in.

I done the tune myself. I called and talked too Justin and he gave me a couple tips, didn't change much from what I did. That woke it up alot. Removing torque management made a huge difference.....I'm still...

Don't say that to loud to your truck. The last two times that happened to me. BANG something tore up. Last time it was the transmission (4l80E) Grenaded itself. Speak very softly around your truck. Don't tell it....you finally have it paid for. CONGRATS on paying off though.

It should be fine, you may want to try and hook up a aftermarket mechanical oil pressure gauge to see if maybe the stock one is off a tad. My 98 350 has oil pressure up to 75-80 when its cold, so even if its right, you should be just fine. your very lucky to be getting that kind of oil pressure out of a old truck like that. My old 92 3/4 ton had maybe 10-15 psi for oil pressure......

If you do not have your vehicles owners manual, go here http://www.gm.com/gmownercenter/ . You should be able to sign up and download a free owners manual for your truck. Towing capacities should be included in the manual.

I just recently had some damage done to my truck at about the same speed. I couldn't believe how much damage was done. There shouldnt be any frame damage. Talking to the guy at the body shop, he said vehicles are made to crumble like a house of cards. Your body is like a giant pillow absorbing the pressure so you dont get as hurt and it doesnt absorb into the frame.

well fuel mileage is very dependent on driving style.... with that said, the 6L80E is a .65 OD gear combined with a 3.42 rear with yields super low RPM's on the highway for great gas mileage while still yielding a gearing advantage off the line (unless you have 4.56s and stock tires with your 4L60E). Im not sure what the difference in price is for the trucks you're looking at... but ...

QUOTE (DofD @ Nov 20 2008, 01:13 PM) Two guys are out ice fishing at their favourite fishing hole; just fishing quietly, drinking beer, and catching a few'rays'. No gains in MPG or power. All cats today are very high flowing so the restriction isn't there. Most gain you will get is maybe a nice FINE in some states for no CATS. There an emission thing and in the last 10 years become not near the restriction they used to be. Headers and perhaps a catback exhaust from magnaflow or borla will yield gains.

Go get them and take them somewhere else. Boyds in Norman is a great shop if you want to drive down there. My '89 had 350k on the clock when I sold it, and there was nothing wrong with the heads on it. Not that that helps you though

I love long trucks. Unfortunately I couldn't get a crew long bed in a 1500. So I got the longest I could with the extended cab long bed. I really have no need for a 2500 or higher so I got to stick to what I can get in a 1500. Mike

I initially had a Flowmaster with twin 2.5" tailpipes....just that change killed a lot of low end torque. Not good for towing...ugh. So, I swapped the muffler for the longer Magnaflow \(sounds more mellow and throaty\) and changed the tailpipes to 2 1/4" on the recommendation of the muffler guy who is pretty smart in this things.... Anyway, I was amazed at the gain in low end grunt...

when I bought my truck it had done its time going down dirt roads, also someone was kind enough to leave the intake half off the throttle body. It was really dirty but has been cleaned since Also now that ive fixed all of my oil leaks ive realised it still uses as small amount of oil, so im guessing that the cylinder walls are a bit scared up from all the dust sucked in. now, ...
