With the EPA, some of these sprays aren't available in the US. I used Fluid Film on my truck last year and just hit it up the other day as well. I also sprayed my snowthrower last year and the underside of the mower deck this year. It seems to work nicely.

( I am not sure that any of the CAI systems are better than others....they are all overpriced and really do not add much power until you get to 4000 rpms....then it is a marginal gain. Anyway, I had a Volant on an older truck a few years ago and it did not do any better than anything else.... What I have now is a $79 ebay cheapie unit and replaced the cheap filter with a K&N cone filter....it has the chrome intake tube and I...

I put a filter and fluid in my trans every 30k miles, and would recommend the same. I am kinda hard on my trans though, harder than most. I am just over 140k miles on an 03 5.3. It costs me about $35 I would have a shop flush/fill your brake fluid. By 140k you definately have water in it by now. I know brakes aren't "glamorous", but they are important $40-$50 depending on shop....

I talked to a GM engineer at the Cleveland Car show this year and I specificly asked him about a V8 option in the Acadia. He said that they tried to shoe horn one of the current V8s (wasn't specific) into the Acadia engine bay but there was no room to work on it. So that means either a hopped up V6 or a new V8. Could a supercharged direct injection V6 be in the works?...

I shift in 4wd when in motion, as long as I am not going over 55 mph. With grinding sound, you shouldn't hear that unless you are having a hard time finding the gear. If you hear a slight thump noise, that is normal as you are now engaging the 4wd. I see you got an older truck. Do you have manual locking hubs or automatic locking hubs?

I will try and pull the cover off of mine today and look. My first guess is, it's insulation to protect the plastic cover, being the throttle body is in front of the motor.

I now have over 173,000 miles on it and I still have about 40% pad left in the front and about 60 in the rear. My brakes work perfect and have never had any problems. It's going to vary from truck to truck, and tank to tank. Best way, is to run it down until the light comes on, and see how much fuel it accepts.
