Ford is making me Money $$$
Published (2009-11-18 11:58:00)
Let me begin by saying I am not a Ford guy and have a history with Ford to back up my feelings toward them. I try to make money on the stock market and decided to buy Ford stock "F" is the ticker. I bought at 4.58 and now it is 8.9775 and climbing. The company has made the changes to being a profitable corporation and I think it is still a buy and could triple from the 9.00 or even more. Just a thought. making money on products you...

OK well the starter was definitely fried.. I put a new Starter in her and she spins like mad now.. That's the good news the bad news is I don't think my glows are working correctly as my cold starts are very rough with a lot of white smoke.. I do know the new starter makes it start right up however the truck is chugging pretty good and its only 40 degrees outside.. Here is a youtube video that I found and my truck is very close to...

You should remove the mechanical lift pump, push rod, and adapter plate. Use a Mr. Gasket 1515 block-off plate to cover the hole in the block. Use a piece of fuel hose jump across where the mechanical lift pump was (you may need to cut the flare fittings off the metal tubing. Locate a place for the electric pump near the tank for the electric pump and install it. Wire power to the pump which is on when the key is in the "Run"...

Take out the Bully Dog and drive away. I tried EDGE and VAN AKEN. Now I use Banks - they seem to do the most research and there is way less troubles and codes.

How much to mill 6.2 pistons?
Published (2009-11-20 14:09:00)
I agree, I would bore the block to 6.5L and use 6.5 18:1 pistons. Cometic head gaskets are the best out there.

The 6.5s & later 6.2s came with an inline lift pump that replaced the block mounted one, and a blockoff plate (same as a gas SB chevy motor) blocked off the hole-I run an AC Delco one on my 6.2, and I've heard that a Carter electric rotary style will also work-maybe Harry will see this, I think he runs them on his.

It depends if the 6.2 has a two piece rear main seal or a one piece seal. I think, but am not sure that all 6.5 engines had a one piece seal. Late 6.2 engines may also have had the one piece seal. The flywheel will fit both of those engines, but not an engine with a two piece seal. The rear hub on a one piece seal crankshaft is round so the seal can slide over it. A two piece seal crank has an ...

The best option when lowering your compression ratio is to bore the block and put new pistons of the desired ratio in it. If you're trying to get that much power from it, doing it with used pistons in used bores isn't the best option. Mike

There is no recess in the plate. My '94 plate is flat and it has the reverse direction pump and serpentine belt setup. You can probably still get the correct plate from GM, but I'm not sure, I've never needed to replace mine. Mike

Bad connection somewhere! Those bats should be connected with a nice thick cable putting themin parallel. It sounds like you need to take a day and really CLEAN all of your connections and grounds. Check all of the wires too, make sure they don't have any breaks or kinks.

If you have a V-belt alternator, you can convert it to a CS-130 without too much trouble. CS-130 is capable of 105 to 140 Amps (and more in custom applications).
My 1983 and 1984 6.2s have been converted to CS-130 alternators.

well how much boost do you want to run? do you want to intercool it? without those questions answered there is no input that would be of any value. It would certainly be really cool, and deff. do-able, Bill Heath has a twin turbo set-up on his land speed truck. It begs the question though would it cost you any less than buying a 6.5 turbo set-up or a banks sidewinder?

Is it possible? Yes. I lean more onthe 250 HP being reasonable. Your electric lift pump will do nothing, in fact with those pressures you will quickly kill your injector pump. Just get a high-flow lift pump, the walbro frb-5 is a perfect fit. You don't want much more then 12 PSI. For a 6.2 get the Marine-rated DB-2 mechanical injector pump and turn it all the way up, that will give you the ...

Wow-those military surplus Arctic IPs are supposed to be able to handle ANYTHING-including Jet-A and ULSD fuel with little or no lubricity-the last thing I read was that biodiesel, in concentrations of at least 2%, outscored EVERYTHING else, including 2-stroke & all other additives including Power Service & Stanadyne. How many miles are they lasting, & what is wearing out? Housings?

Its do-able, in fact Whipple used to make a kit for just such a thing. If
you've already got the parts, go for it.

Tree Killer, do you also have a service engine soon light or check engine
light? If you do, get the codes read on the computer. You may have slipping
clutches, a bad module, etc. Parts houses and shops have the code readers
and most will read them for free. Sometimes when the transmission has a
code problem, they will shift into 3,4,or 5 and stay there. You can limp
home on it, but it will ...
