IMO, a thoroughly well-crafted and well-executed film, both BTS and acting-wise. And just as thoroughly depressing to boot. But then, this in not meant as a feel-good film. Excellent film, but not for the faint of heart, that have the ability to (albeit...

I can't remember how to get that polished look, like say, on a guitar. I added a texture to a polygon side and wanted to get that polished look to it.

Give it something to reflect would be the first step. Decent spec/refl maps would be the second. As always a render of your current progress would make evaluation of your scene infinitely easier.

Sorry, I've never used Inventor, but I have used Autocad and Civil 3D. Things are quite different between cad and CG packages, that's for sure. Things like snapping to objects, which are a career unto themselves in modo, are literally a toggle in cad. If inventor is like the cad packages I've used, Autodesk will have a comprehensive help file and manual, as well as a few tutorials to help you out...

2. USS Titan
3. Akira class
4. USS Aventine
5. F-22 (yes, a non Star Trek mesh)
now it's your turn.

More a Mac guy myself, my friend, so can't really offer all that much advice of purchasing PCs. I'm sure others here can though.
I can advise this though: You need to change your location in your profile to show up correctly under your avatar. You're not in Kansas anymore, Toto.
Best of luck gettin' a new box, eh.
