Stump the Motorheads game…
Published (2009-11-26 15:58:00)
Ok….during a famous motor race, in the early part of the century, several very strange for the time, factory backed, front wheel drive racing cars, failed to finish because of a mechanical malfunction, that had nothing to do with the engine or the strange front wheel drive mechanism. What was the famous event, what year did this take place, what was the brand name of cars involved and what part caused the malfunction????....Robert

What is the fastest you have...

Ariel atom. Yeah right !!!! It’s like me saying that I can take a ford feista up to 140 mph, I’ve got more chance of growing wing and flying around the world. The corolla have got a cable driven speedo, so that means its not the true speed your going. If it was eletronic speedo then it would be accurate, but it’s not.

ok, first, let’s try and keep grammar to an acceptable level.. “have went” isn’t up to it. I have been 160 in my BMW 335i in Germany (US versions are limited to that speed). THe most weird i have been is 140mph in a Alfa Romeo 156 sport Wagon in the UK. Brent, sorry to say but your Civic could not get anywhere near 200mph. Aerodymanics for one, followed by tyres and stability. Power is one small factor...

It’s certainly a car that helps you find true car enthusiasts. I would imagine the vast majority of people wouldn’t look twice at it, but then one day you’ll be driving down the street and hear someone in their mid 40’s scream, and think “that guy knows.“

Is a million dollar car worth...
Published (2009-11-24 14:20:00)
None of these cars are worth a million. -The Bugatti 1500 lbs too heavy, needs another pedal, and is ugly. -The Dauer and Schuppan are both hack jobs. They took a Porche race car and made it barely road legal. They barely made any at all (6 Schuppans and 12 Dauers). If you bought one of these things it will start falling apart after 5 miles and there is nobody in the world who will know how to...

For under $30k, that sounds like a great deal for an impossible car to find and a great car to begin with. I once read an article by Clarkson and he said this is a good used to car to have, but he said it was good for the money over in the UK and it is a lot cheaper over there.

I have been 155 mph in my BMW 750IL V12.
But the car can do 175 mph so I was’nt going to push it too hard because I love this car.
That was amazing and would love to do that again, bearing in mind it was on a public road,
and on the only straight road in my town.
But WOW what an experience !!!!

Hello, I have seen previews stating that the new season starts today but I have checked my program guide and I don’t see it. I live in IL and have Comcast Cable and the BBC America we have does not show the new season airing. Am I missing something?

I’ll settle for both, but if I had to choose between the two. I’ll take the UK any day.

That’s cool. I wish I had the space for another project.
On a side note, though - that biggest jumble of nonsense that he calls a “description” won’t help move that car.
Edit: That got me e-bay searching, and OH MY SWEET LORD THIS IS THE COOLEST THING I’VE EVER SEEN:

They are regarded as c**p cars by true petrol heads in the UK along with any Kia or Hyundai.

This isn’t really a car question, rather leaning more towards motorcycles. I did however find the answer quite facinating.
Question: Why does a standard 45 degree V-twin ( Harley Davidson for example) vibrate your molars and a 90 degree V-twin (such as the Ducati) is vibration free?
Both engines are a single crank pin design and have perfect crank assembly balance.

Couldn’t agree with you more. I believe that the government tries to put as much fear in us as possible so they can get you yo decide on one candidate over another candidate so they can make more money and watch us suffer. I was even a bit scared when I watched they made a bedtime story scary, bad idea.I wonder what the boys think of it?
