Cisco switch question
Published (2009-11-13 18:48:00)
Short answer, Yes. But because you have to ask, I doubt you have the know how to set it up. Don't fret yet, A lot of it has been documented on these forums if you can find it. You also will have to transfer the Cisco phones over to the sip firmware.

SIP Inbound DID routing
Published (2009-11-13 23:00:00)
Wow, I have learned quite a bit about Asterisk in 2 years. Thanks for the reminder. Your one way audio is probably not related. If you don't have a proper matching peer (set using a trunk) then anonymous call is a band aid that will allow inbound traffic without authentication.

It is my understanding that the backup module with 2.6.2.3 doesn't work. I would follow the recommendations in the following link to provide the FreePBX backup and Mondo Rescue backup w/ 2.6.2.3: http://www.trixbox.org/forums/trixbox-forums/open-discussion/back... I hope this helps you...

Now I'm back on the 3G and x-lite still works via tether. Must be on an alternate port. I tried to snake into my trixbox via SSH to check and was only able to confirm that Rogers is blocking SSH as noted the other day via an Android app. In my younger days this would be a fun challenge but these days I only want what I pay for and not be shackled by artificial barriers. This reminds me of why I went years without a cell phone or cable tv...

Published (2009-11-07 22:14:00)
I have been using Trix now for about 4 years.. back to the Asterisk@Home -- and it works very well. I have never had a problem I couldn't deal with.. never a problem that wasn't just typical. I downloaded the 2.8 and this wasn't so typical - A vanilla install -- it seemed to work as I am used to - but just as others in this thread posted issues I too had the same problems and more. One so bad that one day - while doing a demo...

I'd start with matching up the number of channels you have on the line with your config. You state: channel config: 15b + 1d but you have: bchan=1-23 dchan=24 set in your zap config. I'd set them to: bchan=1-15 dchan=16 and uncomment the switchtype line See if that helps

We would need more information about your layout. If you are trying to reach multiple providers you don't need to "listen" on multiple ports, you are making the connection. You can run multiple trunks on the same port to multiple providers. If you need to route over specific interfaces (at the router or nics at the server?) then that is a routing function and easily done with ...

I haven't done a B410P in 2.8 yet, but if DAHDI is the new ZAPTEL, and the B410P didn't use ZAPTEL because it uses mISDN, it would follow that it doesn't use DAHDI either. With that said, I haven't done anything with 2.8 that isn't SIP ot IAX trunks, so I'm just guessing.

Have you set up a "catch all" inbound route with a destination? If you want that particular DID to go somewhere, have you set up an inbound route for DID "6312846580"? Also: "Received incoming SIP connection from unknown peer to 6312846580" indicates that it doesn't know who the sending party is, for troubleshooting you could turn on "Allow Anonymous Inbound SIP Calls?" in ...

You have to have a line per UDP port in IOS. Why do you need so many ports. Do you have 2500 concurrent calls? The rule is 4 ports per concurrent call. Set the range to what you want in /etc/rtp.conf. Restart Asterisk "amportal restart" and the then cut and paste your access list entries. I can do 200 in 5 minutes.

I use an analog door phone (viking E20) and an ATA (grandstream 502) for two reasons. 1. I couldn't find a SIP phone 2. I'm a bit (read "scared to death") security troubled with hanging my POE network connection outside the building where anyone can knock the phone off the wall and try to hack their brains out. Mike- As far as I know that's an internal Asterisk function. It rolls the call log files over out of the Master to keep it from getting huge. I'm going to play with my test box and see exactly what happens. You are right though -- it takes the master.csv and renames it, then starts a new one. It might be configurable to do it daily or something, not sure what that would break...
