Hi all I have the dynamic VPN running now. I am able to download the client , it installs and then connects to the firewall. I am using freeradius for WEBAUTH and XAUTH. I get prompted for my login details twice when running the access manager client. then on a regular basis the login window pops up again and the client states "connecting to server". I check the SRX: show security ike...

OK, I think I've got this working the way I want. I've tested it in each scenario, and it seems to do all that I wanted (and more) I'm posting it for the benefit of others, and also in hopes that some of the more experienced folks would take a look and give me some pointers on how it could be cleaned up. I had a lot of difficulty, in particular, with the logic used in some of the if statements. I'd like to clean...

Cluster design advice - J-Net...
Published (2009-11-23 06:54:00)
The 6500 multi-site cluster works just like any other cluster. Multi-site is really designed for global active/active. If you want to run active / active you don't NEED a load balancer. You can just have users manually select which one to go to. As active / passive require a VIP on the exernal I/F you would not be able to set that up with the external I/F on different subnets. If you are just trying to have redundant SA boxes...

Hi, it means you are using apply-groups to configure something. Here it is used to configure specific things on the cluster members (like fxp0 interface (each member has the same fxp0 interface), hostname, etc. GreetZ, Frac

I found a template ( subroutine) in this script that accomplishes this. It seems to work just fine. Has anyone found a simpler/better way?

Hello there, The link You supplied refers to how to disable BGP nexthop tracking in IOS. Do you wish to also disable it in JUNOS? AFAIAA, JUNOS BGP implementation is event-driven: BGP nexthop change is immediately acted upon by JUNOS rpd and this behaviour cannot be disabled. Rgds Alex

Hi 1. Beware of the active-active ( I believe this is ONLY for the data plane ), this is not like a chassis system with two REs in sync ( Nonstop routing etc ). I have a cluster of 240's and when you fail over the RE all routing processes need to retstart, neighborships establish etc. So yes there is only one active RE. 2. With each BGP session you can put a local preference to effect ...

I had a similar issue, I just confirmed its not needed by removing it from my lab environment, but I want to say this helped things out when I configured it on a clients SRX. Hi, this is because on the passive unit the routing isn't active. you can solve this by adding: set system backup-router <gateway_ip> destination <your_source_network> GreetZ, Frac
