I believe that diffraction starts kicking in around f/11 on the D300. Eric...

After not seeing any praying mantises in our yard all year, there were two on our driveway today. I got out my D200, mounted my Tamron 90 mm macro and 68 mm of Kenko tubes on it, and went shooting. I lit the shots with an on-camera SB-800 and a pop-up diffuser attached to the front of the lens. I wish now I had zoomed the flash head to a longer focal length. That would have given me more ...

BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE :~) and here is the final product (cat as usual:~)) At the moment I am happy with the sharpness coming out of my camera. I think it's acceptable without further fine tuning. Is it just me or does it suck?? Out of the box it grossly overexposes... My five other Nikons never did that...

I have had my 18 200 for nearly 3 years and used it on the D200 and now D300 and find it to be sharper on the D300 than the 200. Perhaps you could post some samples. I went from a d70 to a d200 and now to a d300. The only program I know how to use is Picture Project. It's easy, intuitive and gives me all the results I need. For the life of me I can't figure out how to use Capture. I spent 15 minutes trying to deal with red eye in a photo. No luck. Picture Project however is barely compatable with Vista. I can't burn discs anymore and could never do raw. ...

Did you see the cloth samples? Especially the red fabric. It looks terrible. A TON of noise reduction. Do they say what level of NR the 50D is using at ISO 3200? I'm REALLY not impressed. Tim

Toys from PS cameras, nobody asked or needed ... Canon/Nikon etc need to get more PS customers into expensive SLR's this is only one reason we are getting this. First question about SLR been asked by any PS owner - where is live view? (does it mean I have to look inside this thing all the time? That is suck ...) Second question - where is movie mode? (you don't have it? that is suck...)...

Those of you who don't like it are actually complaining about the size compromise. Go get a D700, and then go bore someone else complaining about the weight of the lenses (which I can tell you is considerable). Me, I love my D3 latitude (which most of you will convert to high ISO), and my E3 portability (yes I know the camera is big, but the lenses are not). -- http://www.flickr.com/...
