Sorry, I did try the D700 but decided the D300s better fits my needs for now. No regrets yet. Maybe if the D300s wouldn't have been released just when I wanted a new camera I would have gone for the D700, but I fell for...

They, are really being nice with you, by giving you till the 9th of the next month to pay a bill that was closed out on the 19th of the previous month. I said you, as we all have different monthly closing dates, pending on when our service with AT&T started; but, still we all are in effect paying for monthly service through the previous month's closing date --- some call this "payment in arrears". :-)

It's razor sharp no doubt and the level of detail is unbelievable, but I wonder if this "hairy" sample does justice to the S2: for sure it just scared the hell out of me ... :D :D :D Thanks for sharing because AFAIK S2 samples are scarce to find. This is a geuine query not an attempt to drum up a debate for it's own sake. Does anyone here own or extensively tried out an Olympus E-P1?. My question is simple, how far away is it in terms of image quality from a D200 and to what extent is that difference bridgeable in PP? Leave aside the viewfinder and slow focusing issues for the moment as they may be addressed with the release of the ...

Pictus, I need to watch this slowly to appreciate all you have done but it is really really very good. May I be the first to thank you for this excellent video. Must be a standard for us all now. ...

Even if the quality were not up to par with film, I'd still run away from film. Think of the hassle of sorting and archiving negatives, the cost of developing film, the limitation of 36 frames, X-ray damage to film, aging problems, damage during processing, and so on.

That's a great story, and the FT-QL would be a perfect camera for someone learning photography, too! To me, those fully manual cameras are about the most potent teaching/learning tools I can imagine for photography because you can see and feel everything that happens in the camera and the lens. And I know your daughter will cherish that camera for a lot of reasons!
