As such, S&P futures will have to break through the1069 area, for higher aussie prices it seems. Goodness knows where gold has to trade at in an effort to move the pair; fair value on Aud/Usd is obviously in place. From an Elliott Wave perspective the aussie is consolidating around the daily trend-line support, which needs to be taken out for a down-trend continuation. A first target after the break would be the 50 day simple moving...

Finance ministers and central bankers are set to maintain their pledge to support the global economy, but they will warn this week that the recovery is too fragile to be taken off life support. However, at its meeting in St Andrews, the group of 20 leading economies is likely to push ahead with its initiative, announced in Pittsburgh in September, to realign the worlds financial landscape and return to growth by requiring each country to...

Rate-setters are due to announce their decision about interest rates and quantitative easing at midday today. Economists suggested last night that while interest rates would likely to remain at 0.5 per cent, the Bank of England would increase the amount of money pumped into the economy from £175 billion to £225 billion. It comes after latest economic figures showed Britain is now in the longest recession since the 1930s, while other major...

There is a 4H E/U channel in developement which I'm watching closely. This can be a very long proyect, don't forget that I'm a short term trader. It's premature yet and might need some fine tuning at BO. What amaze me is how nice it lines up with historical S&R and especially the 85.4% level at 1.535x which will be a hard nut to crack for the bulls. [quote=7bit;3196728]I think there is a misconception here, i always here "close and open [opposite position]" as if it were two distinct operations. This is not the case, it is done in one operation, just like in MT4: If you are 3 lots long and want to go short with 5 lots for a quick high probability scalp you simply sell 8 lots and your takeprofit is a buy limit of 8 lots that will restore the original position. You dont...

Hi Staccato,
I think the amswers you got in here so far have not really been helpful.. I understand where you are coming from as I have been only trading fx for 4 months now. I am still on demo but I was asking myself the very same question as you until recently. System after system after system. I've been through most of them. I believe that this is a perfectly natural process for learning ...

If we look at your regression channel, we'll see that there is a
probability for the pair to reach the other side of the channel either by
going sideways or by rising. We can also see some support level formed near
the current price. I wouldn't go for SELL at this point.

Currently there are no fundamental reasons for the pound to rise or fall
against the dollar significantly. So, the range trading is all what's left
to it.

If you are thinking of the Long GBPJPY on a swap paying broker and hedge it with a SHORT GBPJPY on a swap free broker, you will be in for a surprise!
Most Swap free brokers, even if you or the broker (or both) are muslim, they will charge you a corresponding fee if you held the position long enough to suspect you are doing the hedge!

Codebreaker,
This system looks very interesting. Hope you don't mind if I ask a few questions. I was in the process of developing an FX trading system using filters to determine underlying trends when I happened upon your posts.
So far I've found that filters do a reasonable job extracting trends, but your system has several components that mine does not.
Basically, if I understand ...

The idea of progressive lot size, no stoploss and closeall when reach profit is fun to play with...
