Major oil leak.
Published (2009-11-19 15:40:00)
Without seeing it, you really need to get it up in the air, clean off the oil with some rags, etc., and start it up, go under the truck and see if you can find anything that way. Honestly, if it's leaking that bad and you're not a car person, I would take it in somewhere so they can put it on a lift and get a good view of it. If it was stolen, who knows what they did to it, they might have punctured the oil pan, bent something, or...

Did you ever find out the problem?
I'm experiencing the same problem on my 03 XLT AWD V8 (108k miles). The first time this happened to me, my mechanic retrieved the code (P030) which indicated cylinder misfire. Diagnosis was a bad ignition coil. I also replaced the spark plugs to be safe.
About 3 weeks later, it happened again. SES light started flashing again and the truck was very...

Welcome to this forum! When you said the gear box, are you referring to the transmission or the transfer case? It sounds like a transfer case/module problem. Are there any trouble codes?

If its the JBL system (and not the MACH system, which is different), you can choose between;
-A harness that bypasses the amp completely and uses the factory signal and speaker wires to power the speakers with the aftermarket radio's amp (sucky setup since the factory signal wires are THIN, also usually results in loss of subwoofer use)
-A harness that uses the preamp outputs of the ...

What's to be afraid of? It's safe . If you're nervous about trying through a vacuum line, just run it through your gas . The effects are the same over time.

Have you tested the alternator? If you do suspect a battery drain, try this:
- take out the hood light bulb and make sure all doors are shut
- unhook the negative battery cable
- using a mutilmeter measure the voltage between the negative terminal and the cable you unhooked
- if the reading is high, start pulling fuses until you find the circuit that is causing the drain....
