If you have the wire off the injector, it has to be the injector leaking. There's nothing to trigger it with the wire off.

351w or 460?
Published (2009-11-21 18:34:00)
To add to 360's post ( listen to him ). Nothing fits. Both transmissions are different. Exhaust system is different. Then you have to strengthen the front end to hold up the 460 and it's much bigger transmission. It will work if you have a big enough hammer a blue tipped wrench lots of time and money and oh yah, a good welder helps.

Anyone else got a clue?

There still could be codes. Do you have the defrost on when it does this? maybe the A/C compressor is cycling.

I would go ahead and have the codes cleared. This will get the light to go off, but it will take several driving cycles before it will pass.

Welcome to the forums. Have you tried looking at your owners manual to see which fuse it is. It should have a diagram or a list that tells you which one is what.

Re: 1999 Taurus Trans Problems
Are there any codes? It could be the VSS as it is located on the passenger end of the tranny down low next to the firewall. It could also be the TRS switch on the top.
