Eric, I know how much you like macros, well this is an outstanding macro camera. I had to purchase a step-down ring for this baby and when I get it I'll show you a few neat macros with this cam and the Canon 250D. I should get some amazing DOF.

Gaber - thanks for posting the photo, glad I saw it. Made me laugh and I didn't think for one second that you would have distressed any animal for the sake of a photo. But also happy that you pulled it as people copy ideas like that with the wrong intentions. Mike - naaa, I'm not changing the challenge. The topic is totally innocuous if dealt with sensibly, as are any other subjects. The subject isn't grotesque, its having a...

Nice shots. My favorite is #4. I think the pine cone adds some visual contrast and there's more green to offset the white of the ice. Tim

It's Minnesota's turn now. It started tonight, and it's supposed to snow right through Christmas and into Saturday morning. 18"-24" totals expected. This will make it the snowiest Christmas on record for this area I believe. 'Dreaming of a White Christmas' taken to the extreme!!! During times like these it's important to be thankful for all the folks that sacrifice to keep roads clear for the...

Kev,
The pictures are beautiful, just what I expect from you. While I may have a slightly better grasp on your poem than Mikko, I too am a bit unclear about whether your camera died or you just don't have the time right now for your once beloved pastime?
In any event, every day without your images is a bit less grand so I hope you will find the time to ...

Hi Gary. Lovely scenery, where is it? Normally I wouldn't comment from my work computer because it's totally uncalibrated, but there looks to be a lot of vignetting here. Is that due to the lens? Maybe it's my monitor.

Wow, what beautiful scenery! Being the animal lover I am, I really like that last shot. I looks like that one has a collar on. Are wildlife tracked and managed through a tracking system?
#7 and #8 are just beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing!!

I had a bad experience there also Sarah and was lucky enough to be invited here by junksecret. It gets a bit tedious over there and somewhat annoying. I still visit sometimes but am much happier here.
As the song goes "don't worry, be happy". ..and happy holiday wishes to you.

It can be colour, black and white - sepia for all I care - but there's an all important rule.
The sitter must have at least one lazzy* band on their head.
Hey, its Christmas, its fun - its a great round for all the family. It can be a portrait of someone else, or like my sample, you can get someone else to photograph you.
It doesn't have to hurt, just one oversize lazzy...

Thanks for all who took part - nice diverse set of entries with a heavy bias to B&W, which is understandable, I'd certainly have ditched the colour.
Here are my brief summary comments, I'll link to images where I can. Kathryne style marks are much a work of fiction.

That was some snow Morris, wasn't it. We got almost 10 inches up in Westchester. I took a night photo at almost exactly the same time you did! I'd say this one was taken at 11:41 on Saturday night, from my front window. 1 sec exposure at ISO 2000 (Sigma 10-20).
