Well this site is "coming soon" so I'll interject my methods.... To me stride and form are everything. When I lift weights I concentrate more on form than anything else. With running, mechanics are just as essential, just harder to maintain while operating at such a high heart rate. So I do what I learned playing highschool basketball- I run untill I am tired and then I practice balance, just like taking free throws...

This turned out to be a Calcaneus (heel bone) Stress Fracture for anyone that might find this thread in the future. If you have the same or similar symptoms I would recommend seeing a doctor.
