Start the game in Low settings and see if it's stable first. Slowly increase the level of graphic intensity until you get the crash/lock up. You've reached the point that you're going to be able to play it. Also, check on newer video and sound card drivers. (I don't know what Catalyst us up to right now, but they could also be corrupted. Uninstall, reinstall)

I don't think so, you might find a place to download it but getting a number to activate it for the trial period will be another thing. I thought I posted that if people wanted it they better jump on it a while back but maybe not, I read somewhere a while back (probably ZDnet) that Microsoft was cutting off the product key required to run the free Windows 7. For sure sounds like a hard drive issue. Seagates and Hitachi drives tend to windle away right before they die.
