Start the game in Low settings and see if it's stable first. Slowly increase the level of graphic intensity until you get the crash/lock up. You've reached the point that you're going to be able to play it. Also, check on newer video and
sound card drivers. (I don't know what Catalyst us up to right now, but they could also be corrupted. Uninstall, reinstall)

For sure sounds like a hard drive issue. Seagates and Hitachi drives tend to
