I've used it in over ten builds now...it always works, it's relatively cheap and, in my own PC, it has overclocked very well. Like most of my recommendations, the Patriot is based on personal experience. This doesn't mean I don't like Corsair, just that I've never used it myself. My buddy Eric likes the OCZ that he has (sorry, no clue about specifics), so I would recommend it with a caveat.

I stopped playing MW2 on PC because after the first day, during which I enjoyed great matchmaking, I was unable to find a match with more than 1 bar. It seems like once the US players jumped in, all of the games were being hosted by some shitty comcast dsl or something based on geography. I had perfect pings to Europe and for that matter, I should have been the host of most games because of my bandwidth. But whatever. PS3 matchmaking is...

the choice of xp versus vista is (imo) a matter of preference. there are some who say that vista is bloated and will slow your pc, but it really depends on what you use your pc for. if you're just using it for surfing and a bit of word, excel etc then i think the look and feel of vista is quite nice
alternatively, ive been using windows 7 on my netbook and i like it a lot. its got the ...

Usenet bandwidth will always be higher than filesize because of 1.) transfer overhead, and 2.) encoding overhead.
First of all, file size and bandwidth are never going to be equal. Downloading a file -- using any method: FTP, HHTP, Bittorrent, etc -- will by necessity add some form of additional overhead in network transfer, as the packet contains more than just the payload.

The DVDR scene is dying off while the HD scene is thriving. Perhaps there is some supply reason behind this or perhaps it is just a trend because more people, including sceners, are putting their resources into HD.
Up through last winter, I downloaded only DVDRs. Now I just grab the 720p rips.

I would think so. The reason I don't download HD from bittorrent is solely because of how painful it is to my ratio. Why would I download something thats 10x bigger when I can just get a much smaller file thats far more friendly to my ratio?
Thats one of the main reasons I like using usenet, cause I can download as much HD content as I want without worrying about whether its "...
