Lawyers are a corrupt unaccountable elite, just like the military. No transparancy, no accountability, just grab what you can as long as you can get away with it, and if you have a gun to point, all the better. The written word has never had much meaning in Fiji society or in the Worlds largest and most corrupt democracy, for that matter. So what has Voreqe done besides substitute one bunch of piglets for another, all with their snouts in the...

That which we call a rose, by any other name would smell as sweet." That is what Juliet asked in the celebrated Shakespearian play Romeo and Juliet. IMF says Fiji economy projected...
Published (2009-11-25 08:39:19)
The IMF say that the projection (ie the governments) is 2%, it then goes on to say that the projections remain highly uncertain due to political developments. 2%, if it was a real, valid, achievable etc. would be pretty good. But the fact of the matter is that 2% is a military figure, published by the media because of military influence. So to paraphrase, the IMF are saying that the military is projecting 2% but the IMF consider that figure...

so they are left asking why there is no uprising or civil disobedience.

it probably doesn't occur...

One thing about Frank is he is under alot of fire and he has to do what it takes to survive. What comes out his mouth is pretty much pure bullshyt, but
represents what people feed him with the assurance that he can survive if he says this and that. The only time you really hear Frank is in these interviews
when he is unable to answer any question coherently and instead tries bumbling back a ...

i disagreed with the way Barr has been going about doing the wage rises - because what Barr and his guys failed to factor in is the fact that we will be faced
with $800 million of short term debt to pay off come next year - and the last thing we needed was for the labor situation to be distorted at this critical
time, and destabalising the labor market and the wider economy as consequece - which ...

his economic comments are sound - i agree with most of what he said.
he correctly identified that the civil service restructure needs to proceed - the excessive hiring by Qarase (on political expediency rather than sound
economics) has led to the situation where we have an overinflated civil service which is eating up 80% of the budget allocated in wages alone.
this needs to be rectified ...

Jack, first up, can you please include a link (saves a lot of googling).
Obviously the propoganda machine at work because it doesn't include the statement "The growth outlook remains highly uncertain due to political
developments ...".
PS The source doesn't seem to appear in a google search, but it is a lot more reliable than any of those Fiji media outlets.

It is agreed that the sugar industry needs a major restructuring. I would suggest that the mills should be owned by the Fijian landowners and the cane farmers
can grow the crops and sell it to the landowners as standing crop. cutting of cane and delivering it will be the responsibility of the mill owners. It will be
a good source of employment for the local fijian youths. It also will be in ...

i think there should be a two year compulasory millitary service requirement for every Fiji citizen between the ages of 17 (coming out of school) and 19 (pre
university).
the same happens in Switzerland with the militia and in Singapore with their compulsory millitary service requirement.
in Switzerland you are only excused from compulsory millitary service if you opt for non millitary ...

This is really the only thing that makes you relevant to this board. It is important to know what Indians are like and why one should be cautious about
importing them carelessly into one's country.
