Shelf under front window

QUOTE (Nancy @ Nov 21 2009, 12:09 AM) It is an issue I have with curved side and curtain hanging down straight. It just bugs me... So, I use suction cups to keep the curtain on the window at the bottom. Ooh, that's a good idea. I don't like the curtain gapping there because if I have curtains drawn, it's because I want privacy. Not someone walking up and looking in to the bed right through that gap. I was...

QUOTE (Archie J @ Nov 20 2009, 05:49 PM) Is there a reason not to lift it an inch or two? If not, how do people do it(I'm used to lifting leaf sprung vehicles)? What is the biggest tire that will fit in the wheel well without causing damage? I'm not looking to go offroading, but would like to be able to take it down two tracks without dragging. QUOTE (Michele B @ Nov 20 2009, 05:38 PM) Hello, Jim! Welcome! When I lived in Flagstaff, Arizona, I met a gentleman who called himself "Bob Sundown". When I met him (back in about 1994) he was 74 years old. For decades, he traveled the road in a wooden gypsy wagon pulled by a team of two donkeys. He'd trade up to mules in areas with larger passes (he had a friend who would haul the...

Question about Scamp Options
Published (2009-11-20 12:56:00)
QUOTE (Sharon G @ Nov 20 2009, 01:29 PM) Ed and Chris, I really appreciate your thoughts. I have never actually been inside a Casita or a Scamp, so I am just guessing about the perceived difference between carpet and Scamp's marine fabric. I did read that Scamp's fabric is water repellent, which appealed to me. But maybe the carpet is, too. I will definitely have to take a tour of each when I am closer to buying. We...

Like Donna, I, too, replaced the axle on my '88 13' Scamp and now run 15" wheels. I love the new stance. I'd take the trailer to a good auto body shop to get an opinion about that crack. A professional repair seems like a good idea. Good luck. RJ

QUOTE (Ed Harris @ Nov 18 2009, 08:13 AM) Rob Holy Cow that is a bizarre application for ceiling tile. I would look into the Scamp Rat Fur as they will sell it to you,it is proven and I like it better than the Ensolite in both of the Trill I have had. On a more serious note,I like the U-bolt idea you have. I too would be reluctant to drill the frame rails more of the u-bolts have some good metal to grab on to. I would be...

Oooh, intriguing! Thanks! QUOTE (Raya L. @ Nov 20 2009, 02:24 PM) Amy, Since the orange is almost certainly the original gelcoat, you can probably "compound" it (this is essentially buffing it with a slightly abrasive paste made for this purpose) and get the shine back. What you are doing is taking off the oxidized surface layer to reveal fresh gelcoat. Gelcoat is relatively thin, so you...

Hi Tom, First of all, congratulations on your new Scamp Very exciting! I see you've already caught the drift on silicone If you have any to remove you'll know why the topic heats things up My opinion is that caulk around things like hatches, windows, and the like is just a band-aid and not really a solution. Dollars to doughnuts someone caulked it after it started leaking, and ...

...a few years ago we had Reace (Escape Trailers) out in The 'Wack, supply an install an 8ft. BAG awning on the side of our 13ft Trillium. Drill more holes in old fiberglass?? Doesn't seem to be a big deal here. We chose the bag awning as opposed to the 'box' awning because it provided a little more protection, helping keep from cascading down the side of the trailer, making for a drier...

As I believe most are, my 13' 1988 Scamp came stock with 13" wheels. The spare tire was mounted directly to the shell via two long bolts that are embedded into the fiberglass. When I upgraded my axle to accommodate brakes and 15" wheels, I was left with a few issues to resolve. The position of the original 13" spare tire carrier bolts do not fit the lug nut hole pattern of the new 15" ...

I find I use my hot water heater a lot. Makes washing dishes and my face fast and easy. I don't have the figure on weight of these items, but I never tow the trailer with water on board. The hot water heater is empty and gets filled at the destination. Water weighs 8.35 lb per gallon. If you have a six gallon hot water heater filled, that alone is right at 50 lbs. Add that to whatever you ...

We stayed warm in temperatures down to 3 degrees when we RONed in Kansas and down to 10 degrees in Illinois. We also do a lot of camping in the ...

Hi Rob, It would be interesting to see a photo of what's on your Trillium walls. The ones I've seen have all had Ensolite - maybe yours were replaced. While I haven't found a source for the Ensolite with the "white" vinyl skin bonded to it*, plain Ensolite is not hard to find (and it is eminently paintable). IR Foam specialty (linked in sources to left) has many thicknesses and ...
