QUOTE (olly!olly!olly! @ Nov 6 2009, 05:23 PM) Sorry i have very little knowledge about the history of glastonbury- but who are these 'locals' and why do they have such a big effect on who plays? the running of the festival has a huge impact on people who live nearby and in the wider area, with noise and disruption not only during the festival but for weeks beforehand and afterwards as the...

QUOTE (Cardboard Box City @ Nov 7 2009, 11:46 PM) Do 3 shots win the fight... Or the round? And if they win the round, its a piss poor round they obviously did for him. valuev orchestrating the fight means jack shit if he throws a hundred punches in a round and doesn't hit any. and yeah, it was piss poor. there were only a few moments that got you excited. as was said, valuev was awful.

^ I don't call that much of an apology to be honest. Even in a statement reversing her position, she still manages to call the game a joke. One gets the feeling she's only doing it because her book publisher has advised her to due to the shit slinging on her amazon book page.

Huzzah!! New footy thread!! Pleased with our start - the first month or so has given us some pretty kind fixtures, and our run in doesn't look too bad either. Oh, and we've signed Marcus Hanhemann from Reading on a 12-month deal. So much news in one day!

QUOTE (Deepsky @ Nov 6 2009, 04:06 PM) Dont even start me on that crap... Its not even that cheap! 20 a gram and you have to do roughly half a gram to get well done. it's not even all that pleasant and the comedowns can be massively savage. Plus the fact that nothing is known of its short or long term side affects. personally, i'll be taking some of the finest liberty caps and ...

QUOTE (oafc0000 @ Nov 5 2009, 11:47 PM) Regarding immigration based on race... He never singled out any race... Yes he did. He blatantly attacked all Polish immigrants (throughout the show) and most significantly, the moment after he'd made the case for only accepting working people in.

"Young Persons Band"?? I'm 34, so wouldn't count myself as young, but my musical taste runs from Motown, The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix through to Flornece and the Machine, La Roux and Dead Weather - with a hell of a lot inbetween. I realise that Mr Eavis is almost politician-esque in his ability to answer questions whilst not actually answering them, but that's a classic....

No wonder people get on planes to travel micro-distances On a practical note, took the train up to Birmingham on Cross c**try trains. Presented my ticket and Y-P railcard and was told that it wasn't valide because I didn't have the expiry date card. Fair enough, but I was amazed because I'd always thought the date was written on the photocard card (just like a credit card, driving licence)...

QUOTE (russycarps @ Nov 4 2009, 01:24 PM) and have them play at glastonbury, who would it be? For me, despite all the legends I could pick, I'd go for Freddie Mercury and get queen up on the pyramid. Hell yeh! and you, my learned friends? I thought about this, and realised I simply couldn't beat the full, original Queen line up matey. So a nice, big, fat '+1' from me. ...
