I'm a little curious as to why SD...other than tax on the vehicle. The Escapees mail forwarding - IN MY OPINION - works far better than any of the forwarders in SD. Less issues with voting tricks, and DL, etc. You do have to get a classA Exempt in TX - but that is a GOOD thing, IMO. And not really hard to do. As to why people sell a truck...some move to motorhomes. SOme leave the road, if they have been fulltiming. Some sell a truck to...

QUOTE (DeJae @ Nov 18 2009, 04:45 PM) Hi Barb, That is what his email said 140 but it could have been a typo on his behalf as I asked a little over 25 questions. We spoke yesterday and today on the phone and will chat again on Friday so I will ask him again. Great to hear about the batteries!! I am awaiting tank sizes but I don't think a big problem for us as we don't intend unless forced...to...

QUOTE New customer mobile account. The difference would be a savings of about $26 per month, getting a new upgraded HD DVR, no DVR fees and 3 months of free premium channels.... at least according to the current "New Customer" specials currently being offered. But it would come with a 24 month contract. Don't confuse DTV service people with a call. If you are going to be in one spot for a month or so. Do like...

One of our favorite things about staying at the SKP parks that is one benefits of joining is: you don't have to guess how long you will stay. You just check in and get a spot that is yours until you are done with it. No "You have to move now because someone else reserved that spot." No "I don't care why you are leaving earlier than you said, we don't give refunds." No "You've...

Would some of you please tell me why I should spend that much each year. For example, Good Sam is like $14.00. Are you that much different?????? Please convince me. Won't even try to convince you. Another little something that I've learned... If you do get an notice of some kind from your bank or credit card company or ebay or paypal, that kind of thing, do NOT click on any link in that email or for that matter, do not call any number or use any snail mail address listed there. If you want to find out if the message is legitimate, open a new browser window and use the web address you're already familiar with and probably have...

What's the advantage of a "mobile" account if you don't complete an RV Waiver so you can get DNS? Other than not being able to receive your "local" network stations when out of their spot beam area, all other programming will remain the same. If you're not interested in DNS, you can call DirecTV to change your SERVICE address so you can pick up the "local" network stations...

QUOTE (jw11432 @ Nov 21 2009, 12:26 AM) so ive had the fantasy, since i first read the book "My side of the mountain" by Jean Craighead George, about living in the wild, away from people, away from everything that has gone wrong with society. I would plan to live off the fruit of the land as well, completely removing all need to stay connected with the rest of the world. Only one ...

QUOTE (AC7880 @ Nov 22 2009, 04:08 AM) I am willing to banned for this post - but I am a dues paying escapee - so refund me if you boot me out for "my truth". Am I the only one having these doubts on the new trend on this forum of those who want to drop out of society - those who want a free ride who have not contributed yet to society-- or to escapees bills --- yet want a free ...

I still use a Blue Ox Ambassador. It is the one piece A-frame towbar. I bought it years ago when I had a place to stand it behind the drivers seat of our trucks when it wasn't being used. When we switched to a motorhome it became a problem. It takes a large flat place to store it and in our MH it doesn't fit well into any storage compartment. I made a place to hang it on the hitch bars with...

Now that looks like something that we might be able to down-size to. It is the first thing that I have seen which looks that way. We have yet to find a class C that has reasonably comfortable seating for two to watch TV in the evenings. This may be the answer. One catch is price. The class C units that are workable even without the TV problem also cost nearly as much as a class A that has...

QUOTE (retread @ Nov 20 2009, 11:15 PM) We've put our trailer in for repair 3 days ago and have no diagnosis for an odd wear pattern on the rear curbside tandem tire. The outside of the tire has lost most of its tread. We purchased the 5th wheel new in January and have put about 10,000 miles on it. The other three tires do not show any abnormal wear. The repair facility first ...

We stayed at a campground in Durango and then drove over the pass. You can probably google the name of the CG under rvparks and reviews.com. (sorry I don't remember the name). This CG will be fine for big rigs. We then drove over the pass to Silverton and Ouray. We both would certainly not want to take an RV over the pass. There are too many narrow portions and very sharp curves even ...

This morning we were infected with a Spyware program that was NOT caught by our current Norton 360 Premium Edition software. It is called "Antivirus System Pro" and it infects your computer when clicking an ad or link to a website that, in essence, gives them permission to download the program - thus bypassing your Norton protection. The Spyware then sends LOTS of warnings that you may be...

TV (Direct or Dish) @ $60 month? You are very close to what we run. Ours is $63/month. I believe that HD will cost extra. Cellular (Verizon or AT&T) @ $100 for a two phone (wife and I) plan per month We have two phones from AT&T at about $74/month with 350 minutes/month and our unused minutes roll over. Since most of our calls are to others on this same system(AT&T to AT&T don't cost ...

QUOTE (brianr @ Nov 14 2009, 07:04 AM) I am wondering about buying a new pickup to tow our 5th wheel. We have a 1/2 ton that is just within the weight limits but the 5.3 litre engine seems to really strain on hills, etc. I see the new Ford and GM 1/2 tons have excellent weight allowances for towing,, but still have 5.3 to 5.4 litre engines. In SW Indiana the DNR "re-introduced" pairs of coyotes, claiming they would reduce the deer population. The result, coyotes discovered that <3 month old calves were much easier to catch an eat. Today, you guessed it, Indiana now has open hunting on coyotes.
