typically get that lucky when I get shots, Ruth. I struggle to keep my immune system up, and that's with a LOT of vitamins........my body has become deficient in quite a few of them because of one of my health issues. So, I won't take the flu shots and create more stress on my body than there already is.....LOL. I know it sounds odd, but that's the way it has to be.

Hi Pipsee, welcome to CWE! We have a few other members from Down Under, and folks from all over the world have found this to be a great place for support and information. There are other parents of children with epilepsy on the site, and I'm sure they'll chime in soon. Below is a link that has formatting instructions for posting, including a way to link to video. http://www.coping-with-epilepsy.com/....php?do=bbcode Best, Nakamova

Published (2009-11-29 12:43:00)
Any vitamin pills I've tried to take have interfered with my diabetes. My glucose level skyrockets every time I try to take any type of vitamins, and sometimes, the same happens with certain medications. So I try to get my vitamin D from the sun, here in Colorado in the winter time enjoying time in the snow and in the summer sun.

Oh I forgot to add that I am looking out for anyone who has seen or heard of or has this kind of seizure - it's like brain hiccups sort of! I have heaps of video of her having them that I had to take for the Neurologist and was wondering if I should up load them a post a link - they aren't disturbing at all and she can't hurt herself when she has them - most of the time she just keeps doing ...

Hey there tecknojoe - and firstly, welcome to CWE
Having epilepsy should not mean that you can't live and enjoy an independent lifestyle. That said, it really does depend on what type of seizures your girlfriend has and whether they are suitably under control.
Off the top of my head, I would recommend a 'call in' system - for example, she (or yourself) agree to call at certain times of ...

been my experience. For me, that usually occurs with the supplements that I'm taking, or a possible UTI. If it's darker than what I normally have with the supplements for no reason at all, I start drinking unsweetened cranberry juice.... things usually clear up to where they're supposed to be, no matter what the reason was.

Thanks for this post. The past week I have been hit hard from severe depression. I cant sleep, I cant keep anything down when I eat, i am shaky, and i just want to be left alone and lay in my bed and cry. My family can't figure out whats wrong with me. I've lost 3 pounds in the last 4 days.
I am so close to snapping and should probably be in treatment somewhere. But the thought of that ...

Hi compcoll, I am sorry to meet you under such trying circumstances. This forum was made out of love by Bernard for his wife Stacy.
It is not the purpose of this forum or any Epilepsy Support group to say that something is a cureall. We talk about things that are related to epilepsy.
Some things here work for some and not for others. I am glad you got an attorney. It sounds like she ...

Hmmm, whatever floats your boat I guess.
I would think seeing something like this would only terrify her audience instead of educating them. Then again I wonder how many would show up to watch... Doesn't sound like something I'd schedule my day to go see.
I kind of hope she doesn't have a seizure during that time so she looks like a big ol "insert word here".
