Hi Nelson,
We are glad you got to go by and visit with
Adriano.
Did he say he liked the Hollier? I had one from JR but it died on me, I might try to get another one along with a Smith!(next year)

They look delicious--and so do the
green beans. The only canned figs I've ever eaten were commercially canned Kadotas, as a kid. I imagine home-grown figs, picked and canned at the peak of ripeness, ought to be a real treat!

I first saw my unknown #9 a while back, planted in a half barrel, a few streets/blocks from where I live. I knocked on the front door and asked about it. The only info I got was that it was a fig with green skin and
red pulp, and I was also given a twig..... A year (or 2?) later, I acquired a known Paradiso from a very reputable forum member. After both trees fruited, I started noticing ...

I'm not sure where you're located, but here in Pa I don't wrap them until the week of thanksgiving when it gets really cold. The leaves have not fallen off the trees yet.
So in your situation, I will take the clear plastic off, and wait until it gets really cold, ...

It doesn't take too much moisture in the
paper towel. You want to make the moisture level just high enough that the moisture level in the cuttings stays the same as when harvested. Check on them from time to time.

Nothing special needed. Just wrap the roots with some newspapers and add a bit of water. Then you just use whatever kind of bag you have and seal it. To finish, use whatever kind of envelope you have...

This is very interesting. If only I had more time I would surely go back all the way to Syria.
