30-1040 Firmware update HELP !
Published (2009-11-05 15:31:00)
This also happened to me and I could not connect to the AEM for a while. I tried several times going to the ECU, Update EMS firmware menu options and tried different versions until the AEM accepted one and I was finally able to connect again. However, in my situation, I accidentally turned the ignition OFF while the laptop was still connected to the AEM, I dnt know if this made the difference. I hope this can help someone out there with a...

Published (2009-11-04 19:47:00)
I suppose the sticky I just read confirms the incompatibility with Linux (and Apple / Mac) As for the tablet versions of Windows though, I'd like to know if there are any known compatibility issues before I "upgrade" thanks As for the notion of picking up a netbook, is anyone here using one? There seems to be little need for massive computing power (with AEM software) If I recall correctly, it...

Quote from: crazychickenhead on November 05, 2009, 08:06:59 PM It will run fine and idle fine if I leave the o2 harness unplugged, but as soon as I plug it in, it dies. If I try to start it with the o2 sensor harness plugged in, it won't start unless I hold the throttle at least 15% open. And then it runs rough and very rich (it fouls the plugs). So far this is what I have done so far: I loaded the 30-1040 prelude/accord base cal. I...

Understanding Injector Duty Cycle
Published (2009-11-04 21:46:00)
Quote from: JulianSerna on November 04, 2009, 09:12:15 PM Hi, I am trying to make a full transition from a PMS ECC to my new AEM 30-1401 and am not fully understanding how injector duty cycle is tuned here. My point of confusion comes from the fact that AEMPro allows me to input values greater than 100 % duty cycle (raw 255 max) and from what little I do understand, 100 % duty cycle means that the injector is constanly ON, so what does it...

Scott - Yeah, that is a pretty cool idea. We've thrown that one around here, without a definitive decision on it. I see the possiblity for horrible things happening (read: blown motors) when network latency spikes, or disconnection occurs. It would open up the market for tuners (they could really advertise over the internet) as well ...

In the past few years motorsports is spread-out to different countries. Most of people like to compete with other countries. _________________ Tube Notcher

Yes. It has an engine that uses air/fuel-combo, ignited with spark plug, to produce power. Crank trigger pattern may be a small problem but nothing one can't get right easily.

WARNING: adjusting jumper settings requries opening your EMS which will void your warranty. AEM is not responsible for any damage that may incur from trying to modify your own EMS. There are four timing channels in the EMS, each channel can be configured to measure a magnetic (variable reluctance) or hall-effect sensor. There is a label on the circuit board indicating which jumper ...

That's kind of disappointing. There shouldn't be any reason it couldn't communicate just as well as AEMPro. Most of the ECU's out there currently are version 1 and AEMPro doesn't seem to get much support anymore. Thanks -- Ed

Best bet with 30-1900 is COP in wasted spark mode (2 coils per ignitor) and not even sure that's possible without something like CDI to shield ignitor from increased load.

Looked into the 0.97a release and output config is still hopelessly hard to manage and understand. Hoping to see AemPro output utility blended into the new software, possibly option to use either config screen type. V

I'm just wondering what setting to use for the o2 sensor type when using a regular OEM o2 sensor. I'm having idle problems and I want to baseline it with the stock oem o2 sensor. (non-wideband). Someone has to know this!?

1. The automap feature in AEMPro is intended to be used on a dyno where it is possible to hold the engine in one load cell for a certain amount of time. 2. Quite a few tuners have reported the automap feature isn't as fast or safe as manually adjusting the fuel map. Don't forget that a misfiring engine will result in inaccurate AFRs. Some sort of update will be included in future ...
