DWP workers were not "given" a raise. They simply took the pay raise that is GUARANTEED to them by their contract. If the Department did not give the raise, they would face a SERIOUS breach of a labor CONTRACT. In fact, the Union is currently voting on taking that 3.25% pay raise as a bonus as opposed to a pay raise, which would save the Department hundreds of millions of dollars in retirement ...

AND BARS ON THE WINDOWS OF A TIN-BOX (WHICH IS WHAT MOBILE HOMES ARE), IS NOT THE MOST STUPID THING YOU CAN DO? What I have found is that there are many of these situations ...

Maybe they should use that money to update their infrastructure and in-home equipment. They could also throw in the NFL Network for their customers. We're not buying this effort TW. You're still an evil, greedy, monopolistic tyrant.

Teachers' unions are a roadblock to public education in America. Unions are against vouchers, unions are against anything that appears to threaten their power and control. Beyond doubt, the unions should not be allowed to conduct strikes in Pennsylvania.

Such a paradox. Many skoos require students to "volunteer" as part of their graduation requirements. When the volunteerism involves the unionista however...that's different.

Ms. Estep-Tonan's representative at the hearing said that she denies all the charges against her. I wish the Board and the Supreintendent would have spoken with her to try and clear up this matter. Now the district is going to have to spend tens of thousands of dollars going to a hearing. Don't waste my tax payer dollars on attorney expenses without actually talking with the person you are going ...

This is bullshit. Kids need the consistency of discipline both at school and at home, and thanks to the P.C. liberal movement that's not even possible anymore.

Cindy - is that really you talking or have you been misquoted again? It seems to me that cutting busing and extras was so effective, that in the future they'll simply do this again in front of any levy. It will cut way down on the multiple attempts.

Then this student shouldn't be allowed to go to public schools and be eductaed on the taxpayer's dime neither. Taxpayers who have vowed to pledge their allegiance to the United States of America, many of whom have given more than just their tax money.

So your giving the districts carte blanche to screw over the teachers as they please and leaving them no recourse. This is not a good idea. Yes, teacher strikes suck but they are a neccecary evil. It starts with the teachers and then quickly is applied to all union workers and we are back to the conditions of The Jungle by Sinclair.

I am pulling my children out of this district and placing them in a private school. They are no longer getting the education we were promised. I would rather pay for a good education than my children receive a medicore one because administration does not back the teachers. "Educational Record" ? What the hell does that mean ? Is this school trying to be ' politically correct ' and trying to cover up another cowardly beating like the one in Bellville ? Who is this male student ? One TV report said that he didn't belong on this bus. And wondering when this thugs upstanding parents will tell us that it was this FEMALES fault and not their darling spawn.
