Normally it doesn't work to bad. You just won't get as much as an overclock, and you learn nothing from it.

Want to try ChromeOS for yourself?
Published (2009-11-20 20:30:00)
Hey guys, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post this but I found a link to a file you can download the ChromeOS vmware/virtualbox (.vmdk) file to run with the virtual clients. I'm just testing out a few thing, gave up on it after 5 mins since there wasn't all that much to look at yet. Anyway here's the link: http://gdgt.com/google/chrome-os/download/

Radeon HD 5970 Review from 3d...
Published (2009-11-18 15:37:00)
To be perfectly honest, for the 5970 being like $70CAD more than any 295 I could get, it doesn't seem $70 better..... It doesn't beat a 295 by a whole heck of a lot, the only selling point to me really seems to be the DX11. Especially when nVidia is coming out with new cards in a couple months which will be DX11 compatible and probably faster for rougly the same price (I hope the same price >.<). Just my opinion...

using the n520 with upgraded Delta fans (~90cfm, i think), on a 920, temps peaked at 63c @ 3.8 @ 1.3vcore (i think it was a bit lower, but i cant remember exactly). So, that was my experience. For a mild overclock, it is a decent cooler. For the full retail price though, i think there are better (i was able to get this one specifically for $25.00)

So you want a pre-built Desktop & monitor for $500? That is tough if not impossible as any decent LCD is 150-200.

There are a few things to consider:
1) are you unsatisfied with the sound you are getting now (the answer seems to be yes)
2) What is your budget?
3) What sort of uses will this be put to?
4) What is your input material
Also, I would just like to say that 5.1 on headphones will never match 5.1 on actually speakers because it is impossible to have true positioning with headphones, mostly...

Screenwash? As in windshield wiper fluid or something? Ummm... what? Why?
Normally if you're going to use an automotive fluid it's anti-freeze which is heavily diluted down. Say under 10% anti-freeze to distilled water. Also, you really only need that if you're using mixed metals in your loop as it contains anti-corrosives. If you're not using mixed metals in your loop then just plain ...

Thats a bit much for me
Some people like cases that look "busy" "techy" "flashy"
I do to a point but, that 600 is overboard for me.

At this point, if you're going to replace your motherboard, you might as well move up to socket 1156 or 1366. I don't think that going up to a 790i would be worth the $200.

I strongly recommend avoiding Mushkin. I've heard good things about Corsair's DDR3.

5870 is overkill for most games really. However if I could afford it, I would go with the 5970, as it means you don't need to think about upgrading later, and could always xfire.

Sounds like the GPU went to me. Unless you have onboard, the system is going to continue to restart whether you have a broken videocard in or no videocard in.

Visual improvement? 64-bit software has nothing to do with visual improvements. Where did you even hear that?
The biggest improvement for 64-bit is that software made natively for 64-bit machines generally runs a little bit faster, and 64-bit operating systems natively support over 4GB of RAM. I haven't had a single 32-bit application not work in 64-bit Windows 7.

Its a good, clean layout. I would suggest not having as many stories/as long stories on your front page. Have 1,2,3 maybe 4 that are longer, and then some shorter ' blurbs' the page is too long as it is right now. Also, the right column is quite cluttered and confusing you may want to look at cleaning that up a bit. You divide it up into 2 smaller columns with the ads/functional bits ...

a couple AMD questions
I'm looking at a great deal on a AMD Athlon II X2 215 tower for my sister and i have 2 questions. First, she doesn't need any power so it's going to be overkill in that regard, but thats of course fine. The possible issue is noise. How noisy are the fans on these? Second...
